Wow, that video really took me back. My dad to me to WoO at Red River Valley Speedway in Fargo almost every year from the early 80's to the mid-90's. That Wolfgang/Swindell/Kinser era was a great time for sprint car racing.

Was with Wolfie when he won the W.o.O Kings speedway A main in Hanford Calif. My brother Richard Brown was his crew chief on the #40 Duzmor car owned by Gary Stanton. While he was staying at our home in Franklin Calif. my mom washed and air dried Wolfie's uniform and nomex. Wolfie gave my Mom the Silver Bullet Coors light trophy and told her she gave his uniform the winning wash before we left for Hanford. Doug Wolfgang is a class act when he was accepting the trophy after the win they also gave him a gold ring that was crafted into a sprint car and he gave that to my brother right there on the track. A great racer and a great man, it was my pleasure to run the California turn with him and my brother. I never had so much fun washing that car and helping my brother prep the car for those races. My brother was also Brad Doty's Crew chief when he was paralyzed, one of the nicest men you will ever meet. My brother was devastated by this and damn near quit running the circuit. Soon after that accident you see all the cars running chassis with down tubes from the top of cage to the front end

@Chris P. Bacon Awesome! My mothers maiden name is Boun'e we are the racing Boune's From Sacramento California. My uncle Art and cousin Glen Boun'e own A.R.T. Speed equipment which for a few years were building one of the best sprint car chassis one could buy but after losing their top welder they stopped as they could not produce a chassis they could be sure would be the safest they could offer. But the still produce many parts for sprint cars as well as mini sprints, midgets and other race cars. My uncle Art was I believe the first man to make the big panel wing that has become what we see today, he has been a trend setter for years in the sprint car arena and now in his golden years just visit the shop on his good days. Racing is in our dna set there by my Grandfather Dennie Boun'e. In the many years of racing we have lost only one good man and that was Tommy Boun'e who left this world in turn three at Madera speedway in the midget he was running in.

What a great blast from the past. I had every Weikert 29 t shirt growing up in Central PA. Wolfie is still one of the best to ever strap in!

This fuzzy footage with the out-of-sync sound is right-down appropriate for its subject matter and makes me nostalgic for dirt-track racing. My hometown had a short dirt track where midget racers with little Offenhauser engines filled summer Sunday evenings with the smell of the exhaust.

I remember seeing him back in 1976 or 1977 racing in Elma WA. At that time the track was an old 1/2 mile (on the inside) horse track with NO banking. He was fantastic!
