@Mitch Hunter I'd say at least a 310 average with 42 hrs or so. Finishing with better stats than that would be impossible with only 2 weeks left. He'd also need a few great defensive plays to add to his defensive metrics. Even then it probably won't be enough. Bregman is incredible, but Trout is just the best.

Brees Goat Neither of those two are better than Trout. Don’t be ridiculous. And that’s not a matter of opinion, it’s just statistically untrue. Also Especially with Arenado. He’s arguably (don’t get me wrong he’s a stud) the most overrated player in baseball. His offensive numbers are heavily inflated by Coors field, and it shows because his road splits aren’t even somewhat close to MVP caliber. Even if you’re just comparing raw numbers before bringing in that kind of context, Arenado isn’t on Trout’s level offensively. All-time great defender and yes he plays his position better than Trout plays his. But Trout has still been an above average fielder at a premium position, and pair that with him being a far better hitter and baserunner (which Arenado doesn’t do at all), it’s not close. Also, Bonds was the best player in the game and the best player that baseball had seen since his own godfather before he even had those superhuman years. Also, I’m not surprised I come across another person who mentions PEDs. So many players were doing it at that time and none of them could do what he did because he was just flat out better. He wouldn’t have been able to do what he did on PEDs if he just had an average/very good skill set without them.

Trout has everything. He hits for power, average, has tremendous plate discipline, excellent speed on the base paths. Trout's defense is also exceptional. Trout has also exhibited the ability to improve on his weaknesses from year to year. 2019, for example Trout improved his 'good' throwing arm into a 'very good' throwing arm. Throughout the 2010s Trout has matched or exceeded nearly all of his contemporaries best year At the young age of 28, Trout is already a Hall of Fame player

This guy has had the best 9 years to start a career out of any baseball player ever to play. If he can stay healthy he will finish with 7+ season mvps. He will be the best ever. I'd like to see trout steal more bags each year. He should average 35-40 bags a year with his speed. And think about it. Trout has never had any batter to protect him. Pujols has been in decline since they got him. Upton is good not great. But trout is definitely not in his prime years. His next 4 years will be his best numbers. Especially with rendon in the lineup. If rendon can give him some kind of protection that will be huge. Plus if we can get at least 1 ring. He will go down as the greatest.

Trout's only chance at the playoffs is for the team to make the wild card game, because the Astros have that division locked down. The A's (a better team than the Angels) are in a similar situation. The Angels tried catch lightning in a bottle with short term deals and they often blew up in their faces. They got like 5 games out of Zack Cozart. Matt Harvey, Cahill and Chad Allen are self explanatory. It's time for the front office to commit money to upgrade the rotation and the dreadful bullpen. There aren't reinforcements coming from the farm.

I think the Angels should move Trout to LF next season, and bring in a defensive specialist next year for CF. Trout is SO GOOD at timing his jumps at the wall, I think it's a good idea to give him more chances at the closer walls.

@@Kaibat1205 I honestly don't know if that's true. A CF can certainly produce more value than a left fielder theoretically, but the CF needs to be both an elite fielder, and an elite hitter. Trout is obviously an elite hitter, but his defensive numbers state that overall, he is only above average in the field. The Angels themselves could get more overall value with a true defensive specialist in centre. Also, Trout would produce more value for the team playing in left, simply because he would trackdown balls most left fielders never get near. It's like Mookie Betts playing RF in Boston. And as I stated before Trout is so good at pulling back homeruns, he would be a monster in left, because the walls in Angel's stadium are so low.

@@CanadaMMA Make me a deal for JBJ. His defense is legendary, but I'm over his offense. I'd argue that right in Fenway is as difficult and important to play well as center is. Also do you really think you're going to sign Trout through 2030 and move him off his position before he's 30? His range is good and his arm has shown improvement. My guess is that he stays in center another 5 years before moving to a corner

He is one of the best, but he strikes out too much, and makes up for that with solo home runs and drawing walks. To puff up his slugging and OBP. He beats up on Seattle and Texas, but does not fare well against the better pitching staffs. Someone like Manny Ramirez could hit anyone. I like Mike, but he is over-rated.

I saw Musial, Williams, Mantle, Pujols, Mays, DiMaggio, Kaline, Aaron play, and Trout would be a pinch-hitter if one of them got hurt. Duke Snider was better. Jim Edmonds was GREAT at getting the ball. We saw him play. The Fish led the league once with 111 rbi,s. Albert was right behind with 106. Albert also hit right behind, so, he still knocked in a bunch, didn't he? Ted Williams knocked in 145 as a rookie, and DiMaggio knocked in 125 as a rookie. Hornsby would eat Trout's lunch as a hitter, hitting over .400 three times. Greatest ever? Don't make me laugh so hard. It makes my sides hurt. Cobb once had 63 Major League records, and still holds most of them.
