The static friction test is not accurate on account of the difference in shoe mass.

Do the test. I’ll be happy to watch.

Sick vid! I was surprised when the shoes didn't immediately slide off at a ~50°+ angle!

I didn’t expect to have to stand up. Otherwise, I would’ve backed up the camera a bit more. 😂

What about for just navigating slippery moss covered rocks in a shut-in? Merrell?

Yes! After shooting this video I have wore both shoes out “In the wild” a ton. The Merrells stick like glue to most of the mossy rocks. I even put the Astrals on one foot and the Merrells on the other. Both had traction, but the Merralls would out preform the Astrals in mud and moss. The Astrals took the lead when walking on rocks and smoother surfaces. However, neither where the right shoe while in the ocean. Sand just piles in from all angles. I’m going to try another shoe for sandy beaches later.

Seriously? What a scientific test, but why? Have we forgot how to run around wet grass, stones and rocks, are all rivers closed or disappeared from earth for some reason? Why can’t you just put those wetshoes ON and walk down that log yourself. That’s how far a NO CLIMB A TREE, obviously for safety reasons generation has come to. Liked for considering real life test, thank you.

I haven’t received my certification from NASA to stand in shoes on this planet yet. But thanks for the input lol

Doing a test of a shoe by itself, off the foot is almost meaningless. Both will perform a lot differently with body weight and a foot inside.
