I live in a Barn style shed home. Im currently looking into options for a very small kitchen. I bought a apartment size fridge and will buy a stove, that's small as well, I'm using a camp stove by a window, and a garden sink and hose for my kitchen sink. It's just been 6 months. But your video helped me with the work triangle, and cabinets up to the loft. Instead of standard size. I will use a bar idea for eating, but one side will have storage with the counter top overhang for bar chairs. My husband and I are retired, and will do the work ourselves. Thank you for great information. 👍

Thank you so much for your kind words! Glad our videos helped. Barn-style shed home sounds very cozy. You seem to be on the right track with your kitchen. One concern though, if I understood you correctly: if you're going to use the bar counter for your regular eating would that be comfortable in the long run? Or I assume you will have a comfier dining space in another area? Maybe outdoors? We have been swamped with other projects these so haven't been able to put out any new videos in a while but let us know what else you'd like to see on this channel. All the best for your kitchen reno. Hope you and your husband build the kitchen of your dreams!

I am renovating my kitchen and want to add an island. The current layout is a galley style about 153”x127”. I don’t want it to look cramped. I was putting all appliances on one side and would lose most of the cabinets and want to add the storage in the island. I would also add 2 18” pantries along a back wall. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Patricia, so just to make sure we understood you correctly, you're planning to convert the galley kitchen into a smaller L shape and then use the extra space for an island? We'll try to see if we can come up with some ideas. Have fun renovating!

Hah! Almost every kitchen shown in the video I would call a moderately large kitchen (excepting the tiny ones pointing out severe problems). I have scaled down appliances (24" range, 18" dishwasher, 16 cu. ft. fridge, and 2nd run of upper cabinets to the ceiling in my quite small kitchen. If the kitchen pictured has two 3 ft zones of countertop then its got more countertop than mine.

Yes you're right, and the reason is that it's not easy to find pictures of nicely designed small kitchens online. The pics we put are mostly for inspiration. Good point about scaled down appliances. If you managed to fit all those in though you did a good job designing it.

Lose the music. It's intrusive when I'm trying to listen to the commentary.

Working on it. We got a lot of feedback about the music on this one, so we're working on changing the track.

🙄. We have our reasons why we watch these videos. I was too into the helpful information to even notice the music. It's information not a music channel. Ijs

@@athay14 Exactly! It's an information channel not a music channel so why have the annoying music which for some people especially those that are hard of hearing makes it difficult to understand what is being said. Just eliminate the music and everyone will be happy. Keep the music and it will annoy many, no one will object to not having any music over speech!

Thanks for the clarification. Can I ask what devices your'll listen to this on? That is headphone, or from your phone speakers, etc?
