As a student myself (computer science major), I see the firsthand benefits of a 2-in-1 for students (I have one, but don't use the touchscreen quite as much as I've seen others). The one I use has lasted me for around half a decade, being a lower end HP.

To be honest, i miss your videos about real Architecture, they are very interesting. Considering that you love so much Venice, a place you visited twice in a few years, i would have expected a video about the work of Carlo Scarpa, with his shop, the interiors, the faculty of architecture, etc. That would be something unique, also for KZbin. Personally, I'm not interested in hardware or laptops, not because i don't have to deal with them but cause there are a multitude of hyper specialized channels and content creators that work just on those topics and they are extremely good. On the other side, the only famous channel about Architecture, today, is 30x40 and i truly think that you are able to offer a different and often more interesting experience about Architecture respect the mentioned channel. Please don't stuck on things like laptops or Apple products. If people is more interested in those devices than in good architecture, well they didn't understand the meaning of your work and your goal. Instead, why don't you explain how you created that video in Venice. It's interesting. What about presentations? Different workflows? A description of the most interesting living architects, better if women. Old and new technologies, forgotten Masters, industrial archeology, industrial design and so on. I don't mean to give lessons. I would love to see this nice channel growing so to become the place of the architecture lovers. Thank you.

I’m Majoring in architecture fall 2022. I use MacBook Air 13inch without the mouse. But do you think it’s necessary for me to buy tablet for architect. Or is one digital device that is non touchscreen is enough? What are your thoughts?
@katerynabb2 жыл бұрын
i think that tablet is not necessary, but it would ease some work. sketching and making notes is easier on tablet, tablet is also more convenient to carry around. however, macbook air is quite small and can function in the same way. if i were you, i would save some money to buy a really good laptop(prefers not apple).

This laptop cannot handle Revit. After watching this video I purchased it and it is the worst decision I have ever made. It is constantly freezing when using Revit and it takes forever to save files or open families. The hp tech tried to tell me to open Revit as an administrator to use it to the fullest, but other laptops do not require me to do this. I am an architect and had mine custom made with the best possible specification that can handle Autodesk products, so one can only imagine my disappointment when it takes this thing over a minute to save a file and every 3 months I have to be on the phone with hp tech support. Maybe I got a bad one, but there are other videos out there that suggest buying a real laptop and not a hybrid if one is looking for a high performance machine. The fact that it turns into a tablet is a nice feature, but is it worth the lack of performance and constant tech support calls?

1 of the ways i test gpu is by running Microsoft flight sim and see what altitudes it can handle in popular locations such as Toronto or LA. My Spectre your perforemed freakishly better than what my friend was telling me lol but I flew with minor sevior frame drops up in the sky and had some frame drops at lower altitudes. This basically stresses the gpu and cpu performance in one shot. and it was smooth enough for me to land and take off. THIS WAS ALL IN THE i5.

hi, great video. How do you think this laptop would do with adobe rush? I do a lot of video editing and like the 2-1 tablets. How fast does it render? I usually work on a one-hour video for my church service.
@iu11912 жыл бұрын
Loved it. Thanks for going through this. Not too sure about the laptop, but the use cases were fascinating and helpful. You should consider doing ASMR videos - your voice is amazing, and just the tone alone is really engaging - just a thought. I am not sure that the iris XE graphics are as good as a discrete graphics card, but you made the very important point that unless you are doing rendering - you don't need that graphics power - which I thought made much sense. Again - thanks for the video and thanks for the channel - I just subbed as your content, attitude, and approach are fantastic. Wishing you continued and growing success.

@junaydfisher211 Жыл бұрын
Desktop pcs are always the best for rendering, I built me one in late 2020, but now I'll considering getting a laptop, which doesn't have to be as powerful, since I'll still have my pc for rendering, but I can use the laptop in class and at the architecture firm I'm interning at, plus my country has blackouts so a laptop would help a lot in those situations, the multifunctionality of a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet seems like it could be of a lot of extra utility though, it would have helped a lot if I had it in first and second year.
@MrWanted0002 жыл бұрын
In my own experience with 2in1 laptops, I did not find this workflow to be effective. I've used Surface Book for quite a while but ended up not using it as a sketching tablet. My recommendation: get an iPad or any tablet for sketching
@upsidedown16712 жыл бұрын
Coming from the opposite way. Had an ipad and laptop for architecture, but it's definitely like the dongle situation as Dami illustrated. Having two separate and expensive machines, worrying about which one to take on trips, in the office, and at home is a complete faff. You need to be able to quickly screenshot a photo, a drawing on CAD etc, then sketch directly on it, cut, then paste directly into an email to send to a client or contractor (you don;t even need to save the sketched screenshot (in Windows). This can be done in seconds on a 2-in-1. It's much more involved and time consuming on 2 separate devices.

Uhmmm…liked the video. Not crazy about HP Printers anymore. I was doing the Auto Re-Order with a HP Printer up until recently. I got SO frustrated with their inability to support or problem solve their own printer, I canceled and bought an Epson! I didn’t want to do it…but they truly left me no choices. Engineers have to use a lot of the same techniques when working off site or in the field. And it is true, there really aren’t great options to replace tablets in the field. I use tablet mode a lot as well…just not on an HP. But my next upgrade, I might need to give this one a look…the screen size is awesome. Great “tech” video…maybe a different color cap?….hahahaha thanks Dami.
