So, this comic leaves some things we should be forward to, like Galio waking up if Sylas tries to take magic from Demacia and use it against it. And if Galio woke up, would he absorb the magic Sylas has stolen or Sylas will use him to get even more power. Another thing that would be interesting to see would be either a Aspect actually coming down from Targon to help Demacia (Kayle for example) or if Noxus would hear of the news and bring forces to the gates of Demacia in a attempt to siege it while Demacia was fighting Sylas. The next comic can be so amazing!

Sylas didn't run out of magic, he was silenced by Garen's Q, Decisive Strike. Perhaps a funny reference, but perhaps an ability manifested through Kayle's Power? As it's convenient to suppress magic. Not sure if Garen is aware of this, but Sylas did say Crownguards are full of surprises. Perhaps Garen does have some mild magical traits as his sister

@@Zerhapy perhaps, although there are a few plot holes here and there since they portray Sylas as being a mage who can copy magic, but in game he can only copy ppls ults and any ults be it magic or not, such as MF's ult. But for the sake of the lore and story they take some liberties here and there. But who rlly knows, personally it looks to me like sylas to some extant stays true to his in game character and was able to steal garen "ult" and use it against him (hence the similarities to Kayle), and since it is magical in origin (Kayle) it still remains correct to the ongoing plot. Although this is a comic book adaptation it is still being based off the lore and the video game itself. So I'd like to think some of these interesting interactions are intentional.

I think the person guarding lux was garen. Lux said "tell mom" not "tell my mom" so that already makes it kind of obvious, when word came out about problems at the execution, garen said "my sister is there" so he knew lux left. Case closed.

I think the "You crownguards are full of surprises" is the fact that both Lux and Garen have magic within them, and only Lux's magic has manifested. This is quite possibly because Garen's own sword saps his magic and his role as a knight has unwittingly kept him from ever realising his own latent abilities.

Fun fact: Sylas was born with the exact same ability as a Petricite ”MAGIC ABSORPTION” that’s why his Petricite Shackles works in tandem with with his Magic absorbing abilities. His natural Magic as a Mageborn synchronizes well with the Magic Absorbing properties of the Petricite Shackles because he can use his Shackles to amplify his own Magic. That is the reason why Demacia considers him as the most Dangerous Mage because of his Magic Absorbing ability and it is also the reason why Demacia used their A game in terms of imprisoning Sylas, as you know, Sylas Shackles was not created to be use on a human, it was originally created to suppress and imprison powerful Demons such as Nocturne,Evelynn and Tahm Kench so the fact that they used it on a human means that Sylas Is a Demon threat level.
