the mod has only 1 option: a .7z file. i need it to be a winRAR file so i can use it. (what i mean by this is that there is no option to download it as a winRAR file, only as a .7z file. this option doesnt work for me so ill have to convert the mod from a .7z file to a RAR file using some online file convertion thingy)

For everyone who’s been wanting to play 1.2 but can’t figure out how to get it to stop crashing when using your inventory or smoking a cigarette I did something that seemed to work. So I have expedition and anomaly installed in files on my desktop, I followed the directions for a fresh install of anomaly then did the install directions for expedition. Go into scripts for expedition and drag the smoking animation and the backpack animation to the desktop. I dragged them to the desktop incase my game crashed worse after this, and to my surprise the game stopped crashing entirely, and the animations still worked even tho the files were on y my desktop and not with the rest of the files. Hope this helps somebody else

Its a glitch. on the moddb website it says “delete shader_cache folder from Root/Appdata and replace with identical folder from the zip.”

There's another modpack called Dark Signal made by a guy named Shrike or something along those lines, it's very good, it's basically vanilla Anomaly modded so that nothing new is added but minor tweaks in gameplay and graphical enhancements make the game lose its outdated feel.

Arguably one of the more stable mod packs to put addons with. Tarkov-inspired mods and adding a magazine inventory to this mod pack is a freakin' chef's kiss.

@@meat_coolant i use provak and play as bandid or monolith ..then .. Clear the first area in dark valley .then after upgrading a little bit starting to raid garbage ..then cordon and so ..I teleportinto the maps which is kinda like tarkovs way of entering maps ...everytime I have enough gear/ended a contract I go back to the entry point and extract ..I don't use save in the areas [only at my base] and I use a highest difficulty settings for ai .. Plus the zone customization project addon which let's me switch on random loot and also change all amounts of spawing objects and npc chars .. I set the squad size higher and enable zombie pack spawns... I could change it to a more tarkov like experience if I disable all non human characters..but I really like chasing bloodsuckers ..

7:50 on the SSAO settings: - choose HDAO if you have a AMD graphics card - choose HBAO if you have a NVIDIA graphics card Reason? HDAO works better with AMD cards, and HBAO works better with NVIDIA cards, you can still use HDAO even if you have a NV Graphics card, but you will have a much bigger impact on game performance.

The mod pack itself might be as instable as Chernobyl's No. 4 reactor but the graphic changes it brings can really enhance the gameplay, especially during rain.

Interesting observation: Most of the videos about graphic settings for anomaly recommend to switch vsync off and disable fps limiter but what this brought me was a lot of stuttering. On my PC (5800x, 32gb ram, gtx970) when I switched the vsync back on I get 60fps all the time and the gameplay is butter smooth.

Neither is a good option, it's a non modular addon soup and the graphical part is just 10x bloom and sharpness If you want the best experience, get EFP 3.0 or GAMMA

PiP scopes are available with certain mods, like Desolation. Not sure how they work with ReShade, but you can try them out if you want.

Ok so there are HD npcs, mutants, weapons, HD textures, improved lighting and lense effects ect BUT.. All of the scene assets are still low poly in comparison. It would be very nice to know more about modifying game assets using the 3d program of choice so that they had the same overall dimensions, but a lot more detail (smooth edges, round corners, more geometry) and HD textures to match. Can anyone elaborate if the game maps are 'as is' (models placed in situ and as one file) or if all the individual aspects like tree models, storage tanks, buildings, cars, debris, pipes ect are individual assets that get placed into the map in preset locations on loading? Hope this makes sense. What I'm getting at is if individual scene assets could be modified to high poly with HD textures say, a drum or pipe or staircase or tree for example was remodeled with higher detail and poly count, then do all of the copies of those objects also get updated in the maps? Or would you have to go through the entire list of maps and replace the objects one by one?

Something is wrong with my install or something. I used all the same settings, but it looks super blown out and way too high contrast. Sun rays are bright white that wash out everything they touch, and shadows are basically just pitch black. Enabling some of the reshade filters shown in this video just made it even worse.

Hey Custer! I loved the recommendation for mods (downloaded both Expedition, and B&S and haven't looked back). However, I'm running into an issue and was hoping you could point me in the direction of a fix. I installed both B&S and Expedition, but running into a shader issue (complaining about the Laser Sights). If I delete the file, it turns the entire game green irreversibly. Any idea of how to fix that? I'd love to use all the weapons in B&S, but not sure how to. Cheers, and loved the video!

Custer, I like your guides since they have a good reach among a lot of the newer players in Anomaly, but I highly Advice against suggesting/using Expedition since: 1. It's a mod-pack created by an external party. This means that bugs encountered here are meant to go to the author of the mod-pack since he mixed them all in. I've recently seen people reporting bugs in Anomaly server based on Expedition and getting muted there-after. 2. It's also not a very stable mod-pack either It would be better to suggest either EFP or G.A.M.M.A to newer players since they have highly active discord servers that have their own moderators and tech-support channels

Ive only seen one popular/good HD models mod. Were talking about npc/enemy models? It introduces massive lag at hubs/hotspots though so i recommend using one of the better vanilla based model swaps. Very low if not negligible impact on performance, dramtically better looking than vanilla in my opinion. Though we arent gonna get any amazing looking models any time soon that doesnt tank our fps I'm gonna assume.

Same happens with me, but usually when i'm playing at warfare mode, after a few minutes of staying in army's warehouse, the game crashes, when i checked the logs to see the reason why, it simply said something related to fn scar, i hope they add a hotfix

Well, I can easily rock anomaly on my i5 3470 8gb ddr3 and gtx 950 with no problems with the highest settings and its amazing!

if after following the steps in the video your skybox is way to bright/white try adjusting these settings r2_tonemap_lowlum 0.3 r2_tonemap_middlegray .75 r2_tonemap_amount 1.0
