#1 Rapalas are my go to. This spring however a Panther Martin watermelon spinner behind a hammered watermelon dodger outperformed everything in my box 2-1.

That's not a Rapala knot, what you have there is a mono knot - the Rapala knot has one extra turn in it that ends with the tail facing away from the lure. In my opinion, the knot you tied, the mono knot, is better because I prefer to have the tail face the lure, leading to one less thing to snag.

Theres wobbler snaps that makes the wobbler move more freely and you dont need that knot! :D My go to lure is the Rapala balsa xtreme minnow RT 7 cm, i only use wobblers so i dont get all the small fish, i also use Prey Target wobblers, both has amazing movement in the water but the Rapala balsa flashes a bit.

At 70 years young, I’m returning to fishing (bought a Lund 1800 Sport Angler, new rod/reel combos, and too many lures ;)). The Rapala has always been a favorite. Although I have tied similar knots, the Rapala Knot looks like a winner! Thanks for the tip! Fishing is such a great sport. Regardless of one's financial position, it can be enjoyed by all. I’ve had good luck with trolling rooster tails and inline spinners. Fished in Detroit Lake a few weeks ago and did great on a homemade spinner and a modified wedding ring.

Nice video.10lb straight braid for the spinning setup wouldn’t cut it in my neck of the woods because the trout up here are very line shy. I typically run with 6lb fluorocarbon for trout.

I haven’t seen you guys talk about them in videos yet, but for lake trolling I have always had the best luck with a wedding ring with a half a fresh earthworm on the hook. Would love a video on wedding ring trolling.

Favorite trout trolling lure would be the F-3 rapala in brown trout color. I usually attach split rings or snap swivels to let the lure work. Which also makes for easy lure changes

That is pretty much my same set up. I have the low profile cold water on a Berkeley lightning Kokanee rod. 30 lb braid seems to work great for me too. Never tried the rapalas for trolling. Gonna have to give it a shot.

In the high mountain reservoirs of Colorado, I have my best luck with trolling RoosterTails from my kayak. I also slay the big browns with the Taz Devil. Great content man!! I love your videos!

Been killin it with the panther martins this summer. just working the shore lines and casting on both sides of the boat. trolling didn't seem to produce as much as just simply casting for some reason.

I like the Rapala Knot Best , The old Fly Fishing Saying Goes!!! "Match the Hatch" Using Swivels it can give a longer look to the lure especially on smaller lures. I always try to use the smallest swivels possible when switching lures to find what the fish want and make the lure look the correct size. Fish can be lure Size specific and color as well. The Rapala Knot doesn't Add Any Length to the Lure and lets the lure work just like a swivel does.

My son and I have had a lot of luck lately trolling deep diving shad raps. Fishing for trout but catching cooler loads of perch, crappie and blue gill. As well the occasional rainbow. Also I like that you pronounce rapala the way I grew up hearing it. Now that I live in the south people laugh and correct me. They all pronounce it with a hard A like as in rap. I wonder how its pronounced in Finnish? Anyway great info as always going to try trolling one of these shallow divers next week, see how it does against the shad rap.

that knot is called the non slip mono loop. It's generally used for fly fishing small mouth bass with big streamers

Can use a uni knot and just not tighten it down all the way to the lure. It’ll close when you get a fish but can loosen it again to make the loop.

Joey The Weddng Ring has been a proven winner time and Time again. Its funny because I will find myself looking for the next greatest lure on the market. Only to see my Partner using a red wedding ring tipped with a piece of worm limiting out, green is another good color. Another friend had a wedding ring type lure with a fake worm. about the same size as a wedding ring lure but alittle longer. I remember saying to myself He aint going to catch anything on that. Wrong the trout loved that little lure. I will never look at a lure and judge it until I try it first because you just never know what will turn on a fish. Trust Me
