Would actually be pretty funny for a fantasy movie. The guy has the ingenious idea of making all of his armor and weapons invisible, to a point where he is widely known for it. (The novelty comes from him having more than one set. No opponent knows what he brings to the fight) The group/castle/whatever is attacked and after being totally wasted the evening before has to hunt down his stuff, many stubbed toes included.

In my humble opinion, the best enchantment would be the ring of arming, as seen in d&d. It stores a full set of clothing and equipment that, on command, replaces the one you are wearing. Giving you the ability to transform from well dressed nobleman to angry badass knight in a fraction of a second. Gone are the days of being worn down by marching around in plate armor, or the strange looks from shop keepers as you enter with a 12 foot pike. You could build up speed in a unarmored sprint and gain the full weight of your armor and shield right before impact, though that trick might require some practice.

Invisible armour is probably much more effective than you made it seem... Lets say that your opponent first tries to wound you on your chest but your invisible breastplate protects you. Okay, now he knows that your chest is protected so he goes for your head, only to find out that you're wearing an invisible helm. This can go on and on with your opponent thinking he's found an opening only to find out that that spot is also protected by invisible armour. Invisible armour can make your opponent have no idea where you are protected giving him a significant disadvantage. Another advantage of invisible armour is the fact that your visor doesn't need slits... Actually you might not need a visor at all. Your helm can just cover your face, from your chin to your forehead.

Rust proofing is a D&D thing Everbright ( always nice and shiny) and Everdark (makes it matte black) they aren’t even enchantments, however Mending armor (which repairs any damage to itself) is an enchantment, much more useful when some arse cuts your armor straps.

My favorite enchanted armor from fantasy is the Berserker armor from Berserk. It doesnt fix your injuries but it repairs itself, staples your body together and suppresses pain and shock. A warrior wearing it can only realistically be taken down by blood loss in combat, although it is extremely likely that you won’t notice the injury that killed you until the fight is over.

Imagine a suit of armor that's more or less just an autonomous blob of metal that swirls around your body and deflects blows by hardening in the exact location of the strike, less of an armor type and more of a defensive familiar of sorts, could be a summon connected to your armor possibly. The idea of a suit of armor that's amorphous is really interesting to me, like the shape changes at will and you can use it for a variety of tasks, such as taking material out of other parts of the armor and have it morph into a sword, or go full defensive and have it cover your whole body, even have it become a blanket at night or a small shelter of sorts when you're in a dangerous storm.

You could make it into anything. You could morph your armor into some kind of fantasy creature and control it from the inside, or you could morph into a statue as some kind of disguise; you could morph your armor into a horse to ride around or become a fucking metal centaur, you could make a follower to fight alongside you as some indestructable metal amalgamate, you could build walls around yourself, you could make a metal crossbow, you could pretty much do just about anything. I'm not so sure it classifies as a suit of armor at that point, though. Might need some limiting parameters to balance it out.

(You could store an entire army in there, enter a castle of something in disguise, and unleash them when you're too deep in for your forces to be stopped.) Dragon armour- lets you fly and shoot out fire. Ocean armour- lets you swim fast, breath underwater, be immune to water pressure, cold, and other ocean hazards. Boulder armour- lets you turn into a giant boulder capable of rolling around at high speeds. I can fuck about with a stick, letting it play between my fingers ir even roll it over the back of my hand to flip it into the air and catch it again all to the point of habitually doing it without realizing it, because its a habit I've built over the last ten years, but its still always much easier to do when I'm looking at it despite my body being fully aware of it at all times, right down to roughly how long it'll stay airbourne before my hand needs to catch it for the next sequence. I would imagine wielding a sword to revolve around the same mechanical principles. And comparing fists to a weapon is a fallacy in its conception. You can always be super aware of your fists because they're literally a part of you, connected bodily through muscles and nerves. A weapon lacks that and theres always gonna be a bigger chance of it not being where it should when compared to a fist. Even after ten years with the exact same walking stick, I can't ALWAYS know where the tip is, and I still give myself a good thwack with it by accident.

About the possession armor, u can make it more scientific by having a self learning AI control it instead. Receive information through your sense or from other magic (in my novel, the AI receive information from a cloud server that keep tracks of people’s activity within an area) and use that data to construct movement map then determine what should be the opponent’s and user’s next move.

The armor that keeps kinetic energy can also be scientify by using the energy received as a catalyst to modify armor’s component (think about ATP creation in mitochondria) and use it the same as how humans would use muscles. I can’t think of anything about time slowed armor though. Because there can only be 2 time in the same position (universe clock and relative clock) since user and enemy are in the same position no matter how I think the user would be slowed as well. Different story if user’s body isn’t compose of mass though. Maybe ghost could use this kind of armor lol.

John Fraire that’s why having large data set is so important to the AI. Take google for example, their AI is so good because there is so much information available to them. In the present, total data acquired in a day could reached exabytes level. The normal method of data processing couldn’t even keep up and all that is just caused by mobile phone and internet of things. Now think about how much information you could get using magic and how magic processing doesn’t take time. You probably would have enough information to create human like AI or future predictions application... I would be very interested in writing AI that based on entirely different set of rules. What could I have done if the cpu clock doesn’t effect processing speed anymore, how much could I simplified the writing when I have access to biological’s creature function (like image processing).

You still would have the issue of auto destruction when it comes to releasing the energy, sounds laughable, but One Piece actually got it right with the dial. At the same time, if the armor absorbed all "potentially harmful energy" that would mean it would also absorb the counter energy produced by the energy discharge of the armor itself, making it impossible to discharge, with bad consequences. It could be very interesting tho, and very balanced, nobody likes OP braindead stuff, even if it's fantasy right? Imagine a battle where the villain has this powerful armor, but it actually absorbs "only" 90% of the energy, making it feasible to completely discharge the armor even considering what i said before. That's not enough damage to be truly deadly to the powerful villain anyway. And how does the Hero win? He will understand that striking the armor while it discharges, he can charge it more than it can discharge, ultimately overcharging it and winning.

Armor with good air conditioning would be a decent alternative to conventional power armor. Simpler to manufacture, less moving parts. Highly reliant upon the strength of the wearer though. Might be possible to create using a combination of pre-frozen plate inserts and internal solar-powered fans for air flow. Or somehow manage to create a portable air-conditioning system. Another good idea: self-repairing ceramic armor. Ceramics are very hard and good against both soft and hard bullets, compared to an equivalent weight of metal armor. The problem? Even when reinforced, they won't last long. If they could repair themselves, they'd offer a great defensive advantage. Also an issue with armor: only a small portion of its mass is used to protect from attacks. If there was a way to shift the protective mass towards the area of impact, it might be possible to use far less armor for the same amount of protection.

Something I always thought would be interesting would be an invisibility enchantment for a helmet. You can have full protection _and_ full visibility from a helmet, plus it'll show off the wearer's handsome (or hideous) face.

Invisible armor + Climate control + Air Supply would be amazing. Picture a helmet that doesn't have any openings along with full harness that keeps you at the right temperature for fighting and makes sure you can breathe. Another good combination could be something like Rigidity + Extra Mass + Explosive Repulsion where once the enemy hits you for a split second your armor locks up, weighs literal tons, and is blasting your opponents weapon away like they just smacked a brick of ERA on a modern battletank.

It could work but it would be limited by the energy put into the initial blow. Plus, the full force of the blow has to impact your armor before you can send it back if you want to disarm or injure your foe. You could absorb less of the blow before firing back to negate the attack but that requires the magic to be intelligent and know how much energy is going to come over what length of time to work properly. Just anchoring yourself and firing off a blast of energy, possibly stored by having your squire beat a padded club against the armor, can be set to happen at a certain force threshold with no additional settings needed.

Another benefit of invisible armor and shields and whatnot would be the lack of a need for any sort of eye openings for sight. Breathing holes would still be necessary, but the lack of the larger eye openings would add somewhat more protection and a LOT more visibility. Of course this is subject to the law of diminishing returns, and is lessened when paired with Skall's mostly-invisible shield, as with any plate armor/shield combo.

I got to thinking a little bit with the time enchantment for armor. I'm not saying it is a bad idea the thought of slowing down the weapon just enoffe so you could at least get out of the way is a good idea. But i'm thinking if your only slowing down the weapon via time, wouldn't the force still be the same? Mean i'm no scientist by any stretch of the imagination. But i would think even "Slow" moving objects like for example a war hammer or mace gets slowed down by the enchantment, would still carry the same amount of force behind it by the person trying to hit you with it.
