Inaccurate comparison. The charging power gradually decreases the more % phone has. Thus temp for going up to 80% would have been lower either way.

Totally agree. Scientific method would be to discharge the phone to 10% with both tests and measure the time taken to reach 80% and measure the temperature from the front of the phone along the way.

This video confirmed that i dont need a magsafe charger with a fan. In a vehicle on a warm day using gps theres absolutely no way that the cooling fan would make enough of an impact to warrant needing it. The best option is to mount the phone in front of one your a/c vents for cooling.

There are cheaper MagSafe phone holders that have a cooling pad instead of just relying on the fan. This one is pricey!

If it doesn’t have the cooling surface than it won’t do anything to keep your phone cool in the summer heat ( if it’s not vent mounted)

This is just my opinion, but but for me its not worth it . if you clip it to an air vent it will be cooled anyways. In the winter just be mindful of the heater settings. A 8 degree difference is not worth the 100 bucks, FOR ME AT LEAST . Just my opinion

It is worth it if you’ve already got a compatible device and/or case for it. Just found that out the hard way, I ordered it and my case will magnetically hold but the charging isn’t there. Apparently my case is just slightly too thick for it. Of course, I use MagSafe charging everywhere else just fine, but not this one. When I took the case off it worked like a charm though, so it’s not the charger I don’t think

To anyone looking for a magsafe car mount that works with android via magsafe cases, that also works with CD mounts you already have - this works! Just switch the included mount for the CD mount and you should be good to go. Tried with cryoboost esr mount, no problem! For me personally the CD mount is great! Doesn't block vents, doesn't fall off randomly (in california summer heat) and makes use of the CD player that doesn't get any use from me.

Question: Have you run into issues with your Android phone having disconnection issues when charging with either charger? I just recently bought the older version of the ESR car mount(black one), and I have a Pixel 7 Pro with an Ohsnap puck on a Dbrand case. Yet, my phone will keep disconnecting when charging and will keep looping ...charge then stop. Any advice?

If the phone is already mounted directly where cold air is coming from (the vent) is the cooling fan really necessary? I would think the cold air from the A/C would supersede the air from the fan. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Have you had any issues with your 3-in-1's stand's CryoBoost light turning back on after the off button was pressed? My CryoBoost light keeps turning on at night waking me up even though I turned the CryoBoost off prior to sleep.

Thank you for the thorough video. I confidently purchased this because you tested both the iPhone and Galaxy phone on it. I was having a hard time finding a magsafe case that is compatible for the S24 U. I can confirm to all who are looking for a magsafe charger for their car, ESR works as long as you have the hybrid case. I also tried other magsafe accessories like the power bank. It can connect to any dash mount you already have that uses the typical ball/nut system, just take off the old mount head, plop the ESR on it, secure it and plug that bad boy in.

I bought this same ESR cyroboast charger for my Samsung galaxy s23 ultra that's inside a magsafe case, and unfortunately, my phone charges at only 5W. It appears the charger checks if the device is a compatible iPhone and since my phone is Samsung, it limits the charging to 5W. I'm returning charger to get something else.

In the wintertime the fan will come in handy. The phone gets hot when using the cars heat. As a result, the phone will pause charging until returning to a normal temperature.

I think this system would make more sense to me if it wasn’t a vent mounted holder. E.g. if it had a window suction cup instead, where it would often be a much hotter environment.

It comes with a 20w + 20w USB-C car charger. The fan is quieter than their previous wireless charger with cryboost. I’ve had both.

The fan is great but if you are attaching to the air vent then the car’s ac would be the one actually cooling it down. That is until you charge it during the winter in which case the fan might make a difference; but still it would heat up due to heater being on.

This one is MagSafe certified, so it can charge up to 15W. the other one can be charged with maximum of 7.5W. But honestly after watching a lot of reviews, the 15W chargers don't charge much faster anyway. So save some money and buy the other one instead. it looks better too

you need a supported Wireless Apple carplay or else you need to plug in, but it acts as a good phone holder too

It is a Shame you have to use the included 12v USB power unit. I use my 12v socket to power USB power unit which is my Bluetooth to radio.

Technically you could find a higher output version of what you already have with at least one USB C plug in, and you’ll be good to go. The company only stipulates that you may not get the full charging capacity when using another product because some people have weaker chargers/cords. If you have one with the same or higher output then it will/should provide full charging capabilities.

A wireless charger is just that, its not providing any connection to the car infotainment system. So unless you have wireless carplay already then you would still have to plug the phone in to the car

Thanks for the review! I think you’re the ONLY youtuber that included actual charging temperature in the review 👍 Does it use a peltier cooler or just a normal fan? Should be able to find out by checking the temperature of the surface of the charger when its on. I guess it can only checked when its charging airpods, since part of the surface is still exposed. Peltier coolers will bring the surface to really low temperature, since it works like a fridge. Can you please also check the temps on the screen front of the phone while its charging with cryoboost enabled? Maybe you could include it in the new updated 3in1 review. Hot phone = bad battery health. Really looking forward to a charger that can prolong the battery health of the iphone. Thanks again!

I have the old one from ESR, it’s just a normal fan not peltier. I’m pretty sure this one is the same, otherwise you would see some condensation on the surface if it was peltier.

ESR Magsafe wireless car charger charger will drain your battery as long as the cigarette adopter is plug in but should has been with an on/off switch to help save battery power. otherwise it,s an excellent design.

the esr charger looks interesting to use but it doesn't have an off switch for when you don't need to overcharge your phone.

No need for an on/off switch. A Magsafe charger won't overcharge a phone, since the iPhone has built-in circuitry and software that limits charging (whether using MagSafe or the phone's USB-C port) so that the battery doesn't overcharge. If you're still concerned, just unplug the USB-C cable once the iPhone has reached the charge you're comfortable with.
