The Best Major for Getting into Law School.

Economics and Philosophy majors consistently have some of the highest scores on the LSAT. Does it mean if you study econ you'll get into a top law school? Maybe, maybe not.

I'd add that it can be great if you're able to say something like "I studied X, and I'd like to carry the skills or perspective I gained into my legal career doing Y." For example, "I studied music, and I plan to be an entertainment lawyer for musicians for A, B, and C reasons." Or "I studied computer science, and I want to focus my practice on new technologies because of P, Q, and R." I think that can contribute to a more compelling story than "I was a Music major, but I want to be an M&A or Securities or Antitrust lawyer." Not that you need to specify what type of law you want to practice on your law school apps, but it can sometimes help tell a compelling story. Also, what programs are easy certainly depends on the school. At my college, business degrees were notoriously easy.

For patent prep & prosecution, you need a hard science or engineering degree to sit for the patent bar. Moreover, your GPA will take a hit as you alluded to in the video so there's a good chance you won't make it to the most elite schools based on the standard formula. If you want to be a life sciences/biotech patent attorney, you'll *almost* aways need a PhD (even though BS/MS is really what you practically need) because of the optics. That being said, you'll have more job opportunities than traditional JD grads with poli sci bachelors coming from a lower ranked school because employers are cognizant of the GPA hit.

No right or wrong but I like international politics or international relations if you want to do international work! And no specific school for prelaw!

As long as you keep your GPA up - I think that's great!

That seems difficult tho! If you take just finance or psychology, you'll have more space for GPA boosters courses while taking both will eat your credits. The gpa booster credits will be great for you!
