Monarch's Eruption confused me for a long time, but I think it just needed to have a tribute-summoned monster on the field *at the time of activation*. After that it can still apply the effect even if the tribute-summoned monster(s) leave the field... at least I think lol

Yup it's not like the XYZ support cards that require you to control one to use the effect it's just to activate.

Yup, only need tribute monster for activation and the effect wing lasting until Endphase. If there's no tribute monster on field at end phase, the card will leave the field instead

Btw,monarch erupt's effect affected normal summon monsters too,so yeah... You can negate every type of monster's effect unless it's a tribute summoned monster😅

I love playing True Draco, the problem is that when i go first i get like 4 monsters (out of the total 9) and a solemn judgement in my opening hand and when i go second my hand is filled with Monarchs Erupt, Lose 1 Turn and Skill Drain

Not really, monarch engine is wacky to play and you need more copies of ignis heat to activate monarch search card and also having to switch buncha cards for pantheism to increase drawing Power, i am a monarch player in 2025 and its bad designed engine, but when works, the oponent cannot interact with it

The thing make true draco insane is the negate trap, like the monarch erupt, lose 1 turn, powersink stone and skill drain (ps if you tribute summon master piece using trap, master peace still can use it ability) so in total 10 negate trap + 3 or 2 apotatis which insane

Yes, obviously, likewise if you make Master Peace immune to spells it also won't get the battle protection or attack boost from Diagram.

And btw,skill drain is kinda dumb for the deck is that if ur skill drain is already activated on the field,your masterpeace could still have their effect negated even it use a continous trap to tribute summon itself 😅

Yes, Erupt is far better than Skill Drain here, Skill Drain's only advantage over Erupt is that you can use it any time and will only leave the field if you remove it.

@Jyxero It can, but it won't get its effect. No, I use it the way it's intended, it gets destroyed during my opponents turn while set in the s/t zone, it special summons itself and locks down the extra deck. And, let's face it, Tenpai players love to destroy backrows before they start their combo

Because it was continuous trap, the condition needed about control tribute summon monster just for the activation card not the effect, also cmiiw

@@elkranos3415 yes, the wording only specifies "Activate this when you have tribute summoned monster" The effect part doesn't even have any restriction, only maintenance cost of having 1 tribute summoned field on the field

It's a lingering effect for that turn even if the monster leaves the field during that turn it was removed, hope you understood it

Because the condition of needing a tribute summoned monster is only to activate the card and to check if it stays on the field during your End Phase, if you already activated it the effect is still being applied even if you no longer control any tribute summoned monster.
