In comparison to the phisical media, an argue can be made about the video quality since there is no size limitation to the file but the audio is 100% the same since TrueHD & DTS-HD and thier object oriented extentions are lossless (since the first BlueRay disc), so you lose nothing regardless to the transport media.

Plex is cheaper. It is not better. There isn't any better audio or video quality, not even 4K discs provides better quality. The only issue for me is the price. I understand why it is so pricey. Just not affordable for most home theater enthusiasts. I have experienced Avengers Infinity War and Endgame on a 150 inch screen with Epson 6050 and Kaleidescape. It was the best experience I have had in a home theater and I own the JVC NX7. The source makes a huge difference.
