@@sethbehrends3745 Well, that's what most people would think! but when you understand animals (dogs) you would know Beckman's brown Doberman is the one who taught Prince. I'm in LA and I've actually helped a dog owner that went to Beckman the problem was Beckman didn't show them what to do so when they left, Prince wasn't around so their reverted back.

Prince is an absolute gem.. It's more than just his own behavior, he KNOWS he's there to correct other dogs, his cogs are turning on how he should deal with a disrespectful dog.. It's a shame that discipline is made to seem like abuse nowadays.. They are dogs

This is great help for me! I've got a mill rescue rattoe about 11 pounds. She's traumatized, fearful and willful but she's sweet, loving, cute and has all the signs of canine depression. So I'm soaking in everything I can about training her. I've been patient and take things slow but she already knows to come when I call. I will grab her and bring her if she doesn't. And she knows better than to sit and beg while I eat due to a noisemaker she hates the sound of. I don't even need to pick it up anymore. I just reach in to where I keep it. Potty training is the hardest though, especially when she needs to go when I'm sleeping. I look at that as being my fault. I simply have to watch her and take her outside until she learns well. I stomped the deck the other day unfortunately and now she trembles if I take her out. So, I kinda have extra work to break that. She's getting an A in leash and a B in overcoming separation anxiety. I don't want her to learn jumping yet because she's getting a D minus in sitting and staying. I'm basically her emotional support human. She digs the love though, so I'm confident she can bring her GPA up in the next couple months. She's smart too! Only had her 18 days so far! Fingers crossed and thank you!

You're probably under-feeding her. Dogs who get enough to eat don't steal food. You sound like you're going to make her anxiety worse. What kind of a monster uses a noisemaker on an anxious dog from history of abuse who is hungry?? Why don't you just let her eat something, you monster?

0:16 Can Joel significantly improve a Coy-dog in an hour 0:28 Joel slows down the video to confirm his suspicion that he may be unable to train a coyote/dog 0:52 Joel makes up a new training term: Intrinsic Triggers. 1:23 How to troubleshoot your dogs "triggers": take every possible trigger and bring them back 1 by 1 to see which gives you the highest % of a better dog in situations. %10 +%20= %30 better! Gotta start somewhere 1:34 Coy-dog looses it's ISH at Prince behind the fence 1:52 Coy-dog belly flops on landscaping blocks with general disregard for its genitalia 2:42 Joel kicks the owner out for better percentage yield 3:10 Coy-dog wants muzzle off Joel says NO 4:20 Joel gives love to Coy-dog 5:11 Coy-dog Prepares to sniff Princes butt inch by inch with pets 6:14 The really isn't a trigger like previously stated it's the way it feels and moves on the dog may be the actual trigger 7:01 owner trigger is back petting Prince to check for reaction 9:07 If you have a helper dog it can't be all up in the other dogs grill 11:26 Coy-dog doesn't like the smell of Princes butt, yet... 12:55 dog leaning on owner for comfort while Joel makes out with Princes ear 14:00 Coy-dog pops muzzle off in preparation to destroy Prince 14:10 Coy-dog says "get outta here" Prince says "you can't handle a Doberman!" 15:46 meeting puppy dog behind gate freaks out a lil. Just got a chance to see this, Joel... long story, way short: 2 rescue dogs, clinging to each other (later, found out the dog hoarder lady, from petsmart adoption, was exposed and arrested)..well-- the one dog, as he grew in confidence here, and worked great with your training, WAS then doing this to any dog, seen near my yard (not on leash, the first year, did great) but, as he grew into adult-teen... the dog would not respond to any of your teaching, and, i could not take the chance that something nad would happen (so i gave him back not realizing he was with a hoarder again) (long bad story about her threats, if folks didn't return dogs ti her)... it was my fail, and this buddy dog missed him, but, soon: this kept dog opened up to me in a vast amount of new ways, and after your teaching work, he has become a wonderful dog... he still has terrible fear of strangers, and, yet, NOW he trust me and my yard enough to bark and rush the fence 😮 (new lessons now-- he is learning to stop and SIT, and wait until the stranger, or kids next door, walk by... watching his triggers is bringing us success... 😊the "hugs and kisses" (mom is proud of me) WHEN he stops is working! He still has fear in this, as, he runs away from the ones that he "charges" if I try to get him to SIT too close the fence... he also has a stubborn side, when he "thinks" he is "busy with a "job" he is doing---- he is learning that I won't put up with that... main reason i shared, was, to see your work here is progressing on my dog and confrontation, but-- I could not see it through, sadly, with the FIRST dog, as, it looked TOO vicious for me, when he was with dog confrontations.... (did dna, he was have "pit bull terrier" and german shepard with a bit of cattle dog) (articles said: this mix is a good, but dominate centered mix)... the other that i kept is 14 different breeds, and, 😅 i see a main mixture of 4 or 5, interchanging, it is very funny and interesting... border collie, boxer, Australian shepard, german shepard, and "pit bull" (so called) terrier... I am thankful for you, Joel--- these traumatized DOGS were unlike ANYTHING (dog wise) that i had EVER seen ... at least, i did not fail, the one that I kept.. worse thing, left--- he shakes with fear, if anyone comes over--- but, i am working on it... thank you, for this video...

I've been struggling with my dogs friendlyness towards other dogs than my 2nd dog I used to take both of them to the dog park as pups and they were both great. My shepherd, however, was attacked by an adult pit or boxer or mix when he was between 6 and 8 months old (and won). At the time I thought I was helping by isolating him for a month or so from exposure to other dogs hoping that would give him some safe time to get over that ... But upon reflection it seems like the entirely wrong move. He only gets on with 1 dog who is not my own and has intimidated other dog owners and dogs in my neighborhood alike from seeming aggression. I actually believe he's harmless unless attacked from hints, but how do I bring that out all the time? I've tried many online ideas about familiarizing dogs. But in the area I live, most people are too scared to let their dogs work it out a little bit... especially with my seemingly scary but harmless pillow of a German shepherd.

Our dog is a corgi. He will attack but we thinks it is anxiety coupled with him wanting all the other animals to follow the rules.

Joel ? Right at @14:04 it looked like Prince (THE Prince) initiated a very strong Paly-bow like HE was seeing if she was READY to be play buddies yet ? ? As it was after she HAD sniffed his butt, was Prince reading where he knew YOU wanted to head with her, so at @14:04 HE initiates Stage 2 of the session FOR you ? ?

My dog freaks out even if I'm nowhere to be seen & the other dog is 30ft away..... So far the only thing that is working is loose leash training and "look at me training". Fundamentally, she doesn't yet trust me to protect her, but we've only had her 2 months, she is very young (less than 2) and she was a stray rescued in the desert outside Phoenix. It also seems she was abused by an overweight man.

I agree with your first comment that she acts coyote-like. Super difficult to train a wild animal, even a partially wild animal. Great training technique.

Especially a wild animal that is a solo act in nature. Coyotes are NOT pack dogs. Wolves are pack dogs.

My dog doesn’t do the dance.. He starts posing like he is about to pounce.. No body movement and when the dog comes near he gives his best shot to bite. Not fun. And he is a Shihtzu

Excuse me I have a question about my dog and how to get rid of it ps this is google translated because I don't speak english very well well the question is my dachshund Herman and he is completely crazy he doesn't bite but he is crazy he is just copying with 6 other dogs no one else likes him it's an irish wolfhound a mutated pit bull because it's acceptably big it wags its tail and you get bruises and then three bloodhounds and then an australian shepherd they're all hunting dogs believe it or not it's not the important question is when me and Herman are out and meet everyone in a dog park or in a green yard, Herman the oldest 10 years old will start to laugh if another dog comes and then the others start doing what he does and then they attack it the other dog all 7 of them in a pack so the question is how are we going to end it and the other is why are they staring at him he has been with them since they were puppies when he was then 3 and he has made them lie down his down with his tail between his legs and whining because he is an expert in fighting big dogs and all that happens in Sweden so you know we have very different laws you in ussa like this if a dog is bitten it will not be killed but that will be a high fucking fine

i'm simply don't understand owners who are so fearful of their dog meeting other dogs when they take their dogs to dog friendly areas clearly meant for dog interaction and play. how should i approach when my dog loves dogs to play and interact with mostly off leash? also my dog is a small maltypoo that's playful, but will correct puppies who play too rough.
