So that’s why my tortillas disintegrated, I didn’t fry them. Now I know why they fell apart.

Brenda Owens you don’t need to fry them. They just can’t be fresh out the fridge because then they’re cold and will break if you roll or bend them. Take them out a night before or buy a fresh pack the day of so they’re room temperature and easy to work with.

I heated mine on an electric skillet first and didn't use oil. It worked fine, too. I also have a local market that makes tortillas fresh every day and they are so soft and pliable they don't need to be heated or fried.

You can sear them on cast iron or even better over flame and do this. We love our flame roasted ingredients!
