I was going to order that incra, but I’ll be honest I don’t like the fact that all the degrees are marked out on a sticker. Powertec has one which looks like a copy, but everything is engraved into the stainless steel.

That’s what a a basic, good quality miter gauge starts at. My table saw is $3,500 and on the wall of miter gauge’s, I bought the cheapest one for $74. The most expensive one was close to $550. A good quality miter gauge will never come from Lowe’s, Home Depot or Harbor Freight! If you want something that’s made from cast iron, ground flat and is squared when at zero, you will pay handsomely for it! Quality doesn’t come cheap. It’s in that price range for a reason! Unfortunately, the reason this miter gauge is so expensive is because it has that shiny sticker that says Incra, not because it’s accurate and high quality… I have a commercial wood shop and not a SINGLE Incra product if that tells you anything!

So, then you add in the "Australia Tax" and it's $149. No way would I consider that affordable. If someone wants to buy me one, then that's affordable.... Until that time, I'm out of luck.

@@middomaker Totally relatable. After I got hurt we went through a very lean time where we couldn’t even afford to eat dinner every night with our kids because there wasn’t enough food for us too. I started my wood business with 3 tools. A sander from Walmart that was $14, a jigsaw from Walmart that was $19 and a drill from Lowe’s I got on clearance for $25, after I begged the manager to lower it even further if he was able. I wasn’t able to buy the drill right away because the $40 for the jigsaw and sander killed me. Again, I’ve been on both ends of the financial spectrum, and this is my 6th or 7th table saw. So I surely didn’t start out here. Just very fortunate at the moment to be able to have such a beautiful piece of equipment in my shop. DEFINITELY don’t ever forget where I’ve came from.
