I love client sided mods like these. I've been looking for more for a while now to add on top of my Light Overlay for mob spawning, and I have Not Enough Items too. Knowing about them through the community and video is nice. I probably wouldn't have known of them otherwise. :)

from a server moderator: these mods should mostly be fine! a pvp server may not like the 3rd person mod, and on most server's you'll have to turn off the radars on the minimap, but aside from that all should be allowed. mouse wheelie may be buggy or get you autokicked for too many packets though

And be advised: using shaders and other mods that makes stuff less visible gives you disadvantage on pvp. Compare that to texture packs that leaves everything bright for you. Also the perfomance decrease may affect your 1.8.9 pvp. But aside from them competitive servers, having those mods installed sounds extra fun, so it's up to each persons taste

The "Fabulously Optimized" modpack is a great starting point for client-side mods. It has mods that implement almost every feature of OptiFine, including resource pack features like custom entity models and connected textures.

some other mods that really good: -tweakaroo: really useful things for a lot of stuff which you might need -minihud: same deal as tweakaroo, but with hud related info -lithium, phosphor/starlight, krypton, hydrogen/ferrietecore, lazydfu, alternatecurrent: a lot of optimization mods that go well alonside sodium -(every mod in lambdaura's optifine alternatives list): self explanatory -'slight gui modifications': a personal pic but has really nice gui mods, like screen animations, custom decimal gui scaling, and overall a good amount of nice things to change -bedrockify: has some nice additions from bedrock edition, like paperdolls and the coord hud. it also adds fallen trees and changes recipes but those things can be turned off the fabric modding community is a godsend

Fabric is really on another level, when i installed Better Minecraft Fabric 1.18.1, i was genuinely impressed. Never thought my computer would handle a modpack with 100+ mods with shaders at 60 fps (don't know if it handles at more frames, it was with the limiter on).

On servers I always use a fabric mod setup with most of the mods you listed, however I also like to use mods like legendary tooltips, better f3, shulker box tooltip, rei, and more. But damn I have to say the sound physics mod seems really cool! I used it before but for forge. Will definitely check it out.

Can confirm the sound physics mod is amazing with 1.18. In the new larger caves it really adds to the sense of scale. The mobs sound so intimidating, and simple ambient sounds like water/lava are much more interesting and atmospheric. Couldn't recommend more!

Another great mod that works with everything listed here (except optifine) is Starlight. Starlight optimizes the minecraft lighting engine, which dramatically decreases the time it takes to render chunks. Starlight pairs extremely well with farsight, allowing for that 32 render distance to actually render in a matter of seconds rather then minutes

I'm a bit biased because, well, I wrote it (lol), but I really like Dynamic FPS--it makes minecraft render less in the background (or not at all when not visible), which essentially zeroes out its performance impact when inactive. Plus it can also reduce the volume (or mute) when inactive.

@@mihailmilev9909 optifine isn't (as far as I know) a forge mod. it isn't hosted on curseforge, can be run without forge, and actually needs a similar mod called optiforge to be run with forge seamlessly.

@@robertwoollett648 It's not that easy. OptiFabric is a massive hack, injecting into the game and ripping out the original files and replacing them with patched ones early on. It's made specifically for Optifine's system and is very hard to support, which is why most mod developers do not want to support it (and one of the reasons Iris was made!)

Im still waiting for dynamic surroundings, I love this mod but it’s kinda stuck on 1.16 , there are However some beta versions but they are only for fabric and they removed a lot off cool features like fireflies flying around flowers and village sounds.

Same here. There have been plenty of alternatives to DS that have popped up for Fabric 1.17+ but honestly none of them really compare. I miss DS's sword equip and swing sounds. You might wanna try out Effective and Illuminations as alternatives for now.

One cool mod to check out is inventory profiles. I don't actually use any of the profile functions it adds, but it does have an instant sort button with hotkeys, different options for how you want to sort, a quick stack option and all sorts. I used to use mouse wheelie until I found this mod!

The waterfall sound and effect also occurs underwater where there are gaps that may form an airpocket; the mod translate it into a bizarre underwater waterfall within the water.

waterfall is the only reason why i dont have this mod installed, its gives fps drops for some reason when theres a lot of waterfall, and yeah the gaps annoy me. Its loud and hard to figure out where it occurs and it sometimes crashes my game

damage tilt is no longer a client-only mod, author said that guessing the damage source is difficult and therefore mod now only works on servers that also have it installed, without server support it's pointless

For people who build much or use redstone: Litematica, Mallib, Tweakeroo and shulkerbox tooltip are really nice for fast building, saving and organizing. Also add "modmenu" if you're using many mods to keep them organized

my personal favorite mod for realism is the item physics mod, it just a subtle thing but its so worth it

Farsight is great, but there is an alternative called Bobby that actually saves the cached chunks so if you relog, it can still display them.
