What a waste to make an ANIMATED Lord of the Rings movie and not have it take place in a much more fantastical time and place of the Silmarillion, it's just men. What a missed opportunity to do something so much more grand like out of the First Age. I would have loved to have seen more of the magic, more of the creatures, more of the elves, the larger battles, really anything other than boring men. The war between the Orcs and Dwarves would have been so intense to have seen animated. The whole epic story of the hidden city of Gondolin which has so many aspects of Tolkien's themes. I'll end up watching it but it's already such a drab disappointment

Sadly, the main character doesn't even exist in Tolkien's lore. They made up a female daughter of Helm (the actual hero), to boss-girl her way to victory. I was interested in this till I found that out.

That’s been the case since movies became a thing. Many Millions plus of great books, practically already movie scripts, it’s a Win Win for all. Esp considering that most books have a fairly limited amount of readers, ESP these days. Ever in human history have humans been drawn to stories, and incorporated it into their own artistic endeavors. Also, tons of movies were made into books, by the gazillions. It’s always simply been the way of human beings, nothing new about it.

I mean Science Fiction is FICTION. You don't need to fact check with people with Backgrounds in Science. By that metric Star Trek is pseudo fantasy garbage, the amount of Biology they disregard. Even the physics are disregarded when it's convenient for the story. I don't disagree that there's alot of garbage put there in the genre but it has absolutely nothing to do with not being grounded in real Science and more to do with not taking risks on new ideas/talented writers.

Why does Netflix have to absolutely RUIN a beautiful graphic novel that in NO WAY was funny or had any other characters except for the little girl, her quiet and helpful robot, and the amanous 2 men lurking around after her? And the ending in the book, which I highly recommend, is horrifying, and I bet Netflix will turn into nothing. In fact, the entire book is worth buying or renting vs. EVER watching some silly remake of it. PASS!
