I was really surprised how much cutting power (and torque) this saw had out of the box. I've used other (10" saws) previously and was pretty surprised with the speed and cutting ability of this Dewalt saw.I have bolted mine to a table to minimize movement which I highly recommend. This is a Great saw kzbin.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe with a light to see your cutting line (not a laser line).I'd recommend this saw fro anyone looking to upgrade from a 10" miter saw.

Thanks for providing me with a well deserved "DUH" moment. I made a similar stop-block, but without the key. So, even when the T-bolt is tight, it still tries to move around. I've been tolerating it while I intermittently, half-heartedly tried to think of an easy solution. Now I know what to do. Haha. Thanks, again.

I'm in the process of finishing some cabinets and about to set up my miter saw and was looking at several options on stop blocks and ways to set it up. This one looks like a damn fine option. Perfect timing, Jodee. Keep up the great work, man.

Gone are the days where I thought you needed a fence that spanned the length of the station. It’s pointless and eats up space when you could store stuff behind. As always great video man. Loved the simplicity and ingenuity of this stop block

Don’t think I’ve ever seen this exact, simple, cost effective stop block anywhere before, yet it’s so simple and customizable at the same time. It’s amazing how your brain works that you consistently provide material that is so simple yet so many of us have never seen before or thought of doing. Thank you!

I've been using a similar set up and love it. I really need to address my dust collection around the miter saw though. The stop block system has been very effective until dust ends up in the track slots and clean out is needed before adjusting the block.

I did this exact setup. Offset so you can flip it like you did at the end. But the only mod I would make (the next time) is to try and get it square to the blade when away from the fence. I wasn't paying attention and the length was a little off. If I drill accurately and put two knobs, it would stay more square. Of course the downside is that it's more cumbersome to move it around. The other thing I'm thinking about is putting a "rudder" on one side of the block. Carve a dado to receive the rudder. This way, it will always be square to the blade.

A variation that may work better for some people: Miter track. Then buy locking jig hardware (many options, Rockler has one). Personally I would do that bc it’s just less to make and I’m error prone.

Periodic shop vac massage fixes that. A track fixed on a vertical fence is a better option if doable.

You said the shortest you can cut is 6”. If you want to cut something say 5”, you can cut a piece of scrap 10”, set your stop at 15”, put your 10” piece against your stop block and you’ll be ready to cut 5”. 15”-10”=5”😊.

Sawdust getting inside a flat track is my concern. I wonder if the t-track were installed on the face would that help eliminate the issue.
