It was a shame, because Anwar was by far my favourite from all of Skins. But I think that he was underdeveloped as a character and was mostly comic relief.

I agree! He should’ve at least had ONE episode for him before the end of season 2. But even so - They could’ve made up for it by doing one of the season 7 “feature length” (two episode) specials on Anwar - whereas they only did Cassie, Effy & Cook - that’s only 6 eps for a season...there would’ve been at least space for one more character story - I would’ve voted Anwar for it!

Anwar was genuinely the first time I related to a muslim guy who wasn't a terrorist. The fact that the writers chose to show him struggle with religion was genuinely fucking awesome. I love skins.

You think? I thought he was a pretty shitty character. Very self indulgent and didn't seem to care or support any of the others when they were going through personal shit. Even how he treats his own "best friend" Maxxie... suddenly decides he doesn't accept him being gay, then also going behind his back and dating his stalker just because he was desperate. Also didn't respect the fact that they were all going to wait until aftr Chris' funeral to open their grades. Some of his lines are funny dont get me wrong but as a character I didn't really like him.
