I felt I had to comment on this. I've always been a casual fighting game player, used to run mvc2 with my brothers when it came out on ps3 psn store. I watched evo 2018 DBFZ because I was having fun playing my friends in that game. I decided to watch Xrd on a whim just cause why not. Lostsoul's run was legitimately electrifying. But another thing Obama didn't touch on was that he was commentating that top 8, nd that was a huge factor in how hype it was. He represented the stakes, history, hype so clearly that as a casual and someone who had never seen guilty gear, I was super invested. That set made me take competing in DBFZ way more seriously and I have had a lot of regional success here in Ontario. Funnily enough I am now learning Xrd and I have around 300 hours or so. All this because of the fire that that set lit under me. So thanks Obama and Lostsoul! -yhuss

In my mind, nothing tops NAGE vs Omito, but for my characters SPECIFICALLY, Summit’s run in EVO Japan 2019 was utterly PHENOMENAL. Summit vs Chachacha was intense, electrifying, and amazing.

This was a dope video. I agree with Obama about not getting many big international tourneys like Evo 2018 was. Players like Pepperysplash, Deb, and Hamad all leveled up after that, would’ve loved to see what chaos they’d cause on an Evo bracket now

I think you've got to include Zidane vs Lost Soul at Invasion of TSB. It was Lost Soul's first tournament after being hyped as the netplay god. And we didn't realize it at the time, but it was when Zidane would no longer be the best US player and Lost Soul would begin to carry that torch. Not to mention the hype commentary and crowd Overall, the past 5-6 years of Xrd have been great

The criteria for most of these picks as a good set is simply "the underdog won". Listing a set where KV dropped his bnb 7(8?) consecutive times as a quality showcase of the game is ???
@ANIMEILLUMINATI4 жыл бұрын
Why do you assume my criteria for most of these picks as good sets was simply "the underdog won?" why would you pick that one set to comment on out of the 15 or so I suggest? lol I look forward to your video and breakdowns of the community and its legacy. You seem to have really strong opinions
@MrAndoProductions4 жыл бұрын
@@ANIMEILLUMINATI I picked that set because it's the most egregiously low quality gameplay of the picks, showcasing how sloppily someone can play with 1.1 Johnny and still have it be close. It was pretty painful for me to watch even at the time, let alone in retrospect. I assume that your criteria of the underdog winning having way too much pull over gameplay quality just by looking at the picks. Not listing a single set with Machabo where he won despite objectively being the games best player until Omito? Listing KV vs Machabo where both parties play poorly/nervously and saying KV's defense was the factor when he does zwei yrc 6 times in a round (???) Lostsoul vs Nage where both parties play poorly/nervously in a 6.5/3.5 mu until he gets shotgunned? Why not pick Zidane's run for this video? He played on average much better and played a way less strong character at the time too and he was still a huge underdog. Listing Karinchu sets 3 times because no one ever expects Sol to win this mu (I like these picks anyway, but there's 100% an underdog factor already in fighting 1.0 Jo with Sol) Takehara vs Mocchi at the PS3 event is probably the least kind you could be to Takehara as far as a set where he played well (he's an amazing player, why not when he made a run at KSB or something?) Where's Zadi? Raven not "hype" enough? 310 vs Ogawa at EVO? Why no team tournament stuff? I honestly just expected a better list from you since it's clear you have passion and have attended the vast majority of these sets and clicked on the vid in the first place expecting to enjoy it.
