@@eyeofhorus1301 huh? Janja has like 20 golds in international events, more than ANY other woman in history and she got them in a tiny amount of time, meaning she is consistently the best everywhere, not just once a year or something.

Being as dominant in bouldering and lead as she has been in the past few years i was afraid she would only be able to loose in this competition. @Lil Yeet Are you someone from the organisation who just yells at everyone pointing out flaws?
@mo59343 жыл бұрын
It was so painful watching so many incredibly talented boulder & lead climbers carry out the speed discipline and absolutely cringeworthy watching the speed climbers attempt the boulder and lead disciplines. Combing all three disciplines was not only a terribly uneducated call by the committee but disgracefully unfair, almost punishing for all of the incredible climbers that took part. SO GLAD these disciplines have been separated for future Olympics. An absolute joy to watch everyone climb, smile and support each other all the way through...Even if the Olympic committee failed miserably with sport climbing's debut. As always, Janja was powerful, precise and absolutely mesmerising to watch! P.S Please employ better camera people, commentators, route setters maybe? and DEFINITELY.... ABSOLUTELY figure out a fair & understandable points system, assuming that may stay the same in the future... Thanks.
@mo59343 жыл бұрын
@Lil Yeet I'm not rubbishing any of the climbers, they are incredible it was horrible watching them climb in disciplines that they don't specialise in for the sake of "Olympic entertainment". I'm glad they're separating these disciplines for future so that they don't have to train for years in a discipline they may not be passionate about. And glad they will have the opportunity to compete in the discipline they love!
@mo59343 жыл бұрын
@Lil Yeet In Australia, most of the time you saw the camera focusing on the climber chalking up or breaking enroute. Instead of being able to watch everyone compete. I thought it was bollocks.
@eorlsven12413 жыл бұрын
I guess you never heard of decathlon, pentathlon or triathlon either? too bad. I think this was an excellent solution to bring climbing to the Olympics for the first time: you can't expect too much when you are new... maybe they will tweak the points system, but other than that I like the idea of crowning an all round athlete
@wanr57013 жыл бұрын
Hahaha painful? Cringeworthy? Whoever that willing to get out of their comfort zone by working on discipline outside their expertise just for a shot at the medal, certainly deserve a big applause from everyone!.

@@eorlsven1241 Well they already said that in the next olympics that speed climbing will be separated from bouldering and lead climbing so this is a one time occurrence in the olympics that won't happen again and climbers will be much happier for it.

You do climb lead & speed with a rope. Bouldering "problems" are not that high + the soft mats are there to make the fall quite safe. So basically you can just jump off. You might climb down a bit as well, though

I hope they give each discipline its own medal next time around. Having speed mixed in with the way they did the scoring was kinda lame. Speed climbing, while clearly difficult, is so drastically different than lead and bouldering that it kinda feels like the odd one out. The fact that the men’s gold medalist finished last in bouldering and won speed with like the 5th fastest time was a bit odd.
