Holy carp. At the time I didn't realize how cutting edge all of this was. He's by far the most cutting and ironically real ghost I've ever seen. There's so much here that ended up going so far beyond and is just becoming massive deals now. Both the guests and Max add to the whole cyberpunk dystopia of reality today. Too bad the style didn't keep on.

It was hand-animated using the filmed frames of Frewer's acting... basically, mo-cap without CGI, which was still being called "rotoscoping" at that time. This was the method used in the television series... not sure what they were doing by the time they went to this "late night" format tho.

One of the funniest jokes Britain creatives played on unsuspecting Americans. Max Headroom was styled after Nazi propaganda posters (blue eyes, swept back blonde hair), and would ridicule American TV show hosts, and much more, not only did they adopt this bigoted *robot into their own tv shows as a celebrity, they also had Coca Cola use him as the front man to release New Coke dangling this satirical joke on them in star spangled banners, as you know, he's that robot from TV. Simply amazing

I think Jim Carrey- with how he acts now-a-days- is ashamed that his whole life is just a persona of Matt Frewer's personality as Max Headroom. His life is literally a lie. The Rap God video was a parody of this. Max Headroom was around 1985-1988 and few times since then including Pixels in 2015.

max headroom was a clever concept, for its time, but it ruins the immersion when his stuttering is inconsistent. over 90% of the time he talks normal and occasionally they add a stutter or 2 in there.
@XeresKyle

His glitchin is suppose to be inconsistent, just like how glitches are. Also he glitches in some words or letters to give them another meaning, like when he says "six-six-six successful" and " pee-pee-peek". It is fitting for the subject he is on. Like how network television is the devil when talking about censorship "...six-six-six success" and his genitalia when talking about girls, hence the "pee-pee-peek."

Sometimes what he says is blatant and other times he has a subconscious type of message intrinsically said I a less obtrusive but said to be still poignant but discreet.

He is a paradox but relatable.

That's just DUMB! If his stutter was in any way consistent the effect would be runed! It's a GLITCH! Why would a glitch EVER be consistent? It has to be random and unpredictable or it's an intentional feature rather than a bug. Besides that his glitches often reveal double meanings. He can't be doing that with consistency.
