Man you're not kidding. So many of these one-liners I saw when they aired, and they stuck with me to the point where I've used them without fail making people laugh for the last 40 years. I'm not a comic but I was doing Richard Lewis. God bless him. We were all young once

Great posts about Richard Lewis, what a treasure 😊

What are you talking about? All Lettterman did was fake laugh trying to make him sound funny. Literally nothing Richard Lewis said was funny. He was given the platform like so many in the entertainment industry because of their religion with no talent whatsoever. People are blind to who has owned Hollywood forever and bs propaganda they put out.

This is a wonderful collection of clips. He always had so much fun with David and it is a joy to see them again in the wake of Richard’s death. I had the privilege to work with Richard on a Super Bowl commercial in 2011 for Snickers and spent the day with him having a wonderful time. We did a lot of ad-libbing about gazebos. He was so very funny. It was voted the number one Super Bowl commercial that year and it played all over the states- because he was just so funny. May he rest in peace.

I had a crush on him too growing up. I tried to call into a radio station in Tampa trying to win tickets to see him. I did not win the tickets so I bought them. I roared with laughter. Never met him but I got one peak at him through a side door afterward. I was so happy I saw his standup live. So so sad he's gone just like that.

Seen lots of Lewis-Letterman clips on YT/elsewhere. This really tops everything in terms of novelty and great retranscription of preexisting stuff, from Lewis's career. Honestly I wish they could have shown all of Richard's appearance from Late Night's "Too Tired To Do A Show". Imo that was the crowning jewel of Richard's panel work and under adverse circumstances. *RIP* Richard Lewis
