The best of Southern Culture: Oxford, Mississippi

I couldn't be more proud to be a native Oxonian and graduate of Ole Miss. When I was young the red brick building that is now City Hall was the Post Office. The red brick Federal Building that you showed was also the Post Office for years after it moved from the building that became City Hall. My dad knew William Faulkner and his brother John very well. He was indeed a very odd fellow. I live in Florida now. Sometimes people tease me that I'm from the poor state of Mississippi. I tell them they've clearly never been to Oxford! LOL. To be honest, I wish it would stop growing. My family still lives there and we're all afraid that it's going to lose it's traditional charm if it gets much bigger.

You’re not the only one who wishes that Oxford will stop growing. My husband was born in Oxford and every time we drive around the city he can’t help but rekindle the great memories he had in this very charming town. Oxford is like everyone’s child who’s growing up so fast and while parents wish time would slow down however we can’t wait to see them becoming what they are destined to be. We all love her charm and the southern values it lives up to and praying it will stay intact amidst the development. I appreciate you visiting my channel and sharing beautiful insights.
