Not excusing it in any way, but adrenaline is a very real thing and these guys are fighting for their lives. Once you feel that tap, everything immediately and instantly changes from fight to relief/excitement, especially at this level and fighters often times are overwhelmed with emotions and not thinking clearly. Again, I'm not saying it's not wrong, I'm just trying to give some context as to why things like this happen. It may not have been intentional.
@pztfootball87192 жыл бұрын
@@Danlovestrivium that’s no excuse, we train every day and therefore we train our adrenaline every day. If someone’s adrenaline is to the point where they don’t care if their unconscious opponent snaps the back of their head on the mat they need to grow up and atleast withstand criticism without excuses. Back of the head is no joke
@Danlovestrivium2 жыл бұрын
@@pztfootball8719 If you think that training in your gym with people you know and roll with all the time is the same as competing at the world level, I honestly don't believe you've ever competed even at the local level, to be honest with you. @@camcantrunvods9765 in these situations I give more blame to the refs then competitors. When a ref tells you to stop your first instinct is to immediately let go as fast as possible. Plus going from a guillotine to catching someone’s head is likely never a movement he has ever done in his life. So I’d like to think I’d catch the guy’s head, but I’ve actually never seen anyone do it in MMA or BJJ

It wouldn't surprise me at all if a lot of these guys were talented high school or collegiate level wrestlers with years of experience far exceeding the time your average blue belt has on the mats. It doesn't have to be that way, but looking at most of these dudes, they certainly look as if their at an athletic level much higher than someone that started doing BJJ 2-3 years ago and trains for an hour 2-3 times a week.

The guy just dropping his unconscious opponent at 1:38 and letting his head bounce off the mat is a loser and he should be disqualified for that. Totally uncalled for, and then he steps away like its no big deal that he could have broken the guys neck or given him brain damage. The ref too, get rid of that bum.

What I dont get about this is how do you stop a gym from training a guy 7ys and just giving him a blue belt so they can compete here?? Also how many years in average do you think this guys have?? I got my blue belt in 1.5ys but I bet my ass this guys have waaaaay more time than that training

Why have a blue belt worlds lol?? If you’re such a good blue belt just go to purple belt. Should call it the sandbag worlds
@derrickrobinson72692 жыл бұрын
2 reasons: Tradition (time constraints) & overall skill increase. You can't fly through belt ranks (even if you're a prodigy) due to IBJJF if you want to be eligible to compete, no matter how good you are. A guy I train with has insane mat time & 2nd at the ADCC Open and is a killer, but he's only a Blue due to training less than 3 yrs. Also, the overall skill level has shot up for all belt ranks than it was even 10 yrs ago. All Blue Belts I know can wrestle, pass, pin, escape, play guard, and are competent at leglocks at the bare minimum. Ofcourse as a Blue myself details need to be refined, but the knowledge required in modern BJJ just to be Blue is huge.
@balooojeffersong42342 жыл бұрын

@@balooojeffersong4234 Lol sure we can call it sandbagging, but it's forced by the IBJJF so we can't blame the schools. Andrew Wiltse has a rant about it detailing his personal experience being sandbagged at Blue/Purple because of IBJJF time policy
