@Jay Away I'm happy to see your great experience with the shirt/ jacket. I just bought a charcoal grey virgin wool jacket and vicariously enjoying your hike until I can get out for a hike later this week. I have decided to convert my wardrobe from polyester to wool. It cuts down on airborne microplastics for health. Plus, wool is completely comfortable and the most temperature wide range fabric made ( including alpaca and other animal fibers.) God knew what He was doing from the start didn't He? I have cotton over coats, driver, field Jak I need to retreat with bees wax for rain protection. Like all the goodness of natural textiles. You mentioned how breathable the shirt is. That's the key. It's not clammy like recycled milk jugs. Lol. If it drops to way below freezing, the heavy vintage hunting coats are nice, as are the baggy wool pants, socks and merino long johns. I suppose you will enjoy that manly shirt for many years. God bless you sir.

Which wool oants do you wear?
@preacherman9018Ай бұрын
@niconicoo5661 I need to check to make sure, but going from memory they are either Finnish or Swiss. They are lined and the "bluish" grey that works in any woodland environment and town. I recommend looking for a pair if you hunt or enjoy getting out in nature during the winter. If you decide to look for some, let me know. It's still warm here, so they are in storage, but can check for you. The jacket is definitely a Finnish m65. It's gotten compliments from strangers while wearing it in town. It's more a taylored fit while the trousers are baggy for layering.

WHAT a shirt. I am currently looking at shirts from Schott NYC (one of the finest leather jacket makers in the world, one of which I am a proud owner). They do wool shirts in the ~$150-200. This McNair is just beautiful though.

Any help on sizing? I’m in the states. I see the sizing suggestions on the site, but it seems they’re a trim fit, and I want to use as an outer layer, wear hoodie or flannel underneath. I’m a 46 chest in blazers, and usually have to order for my broad chest and shoulders. So it looks like I need XXL, I’m just worried about the sleeve length? Not sure. But any sizing experience would be appreciated. I can’t find much online.

Jay, you mentioned you had to send back the shirt for some alterations. May I ask what alterations they made? I'm in the States and I too am ordering the MTM option. They charge a lot for international shipping so I want to make sure to avoid the same "mistakes" you encountered. Thanks for your feedback.
@jayaway13612 жыл бұрын
Mine was a little lose around the shoulders, I sent it back and it was back with me in a few days and fit perfectly. I’m sure it’s not a common occurrence. Being in the states you want it right first time. As long as you are accurate with your measurements I’m sure you’ll be fine. If you get it and it fits you well, you’ll be chuffed to bits. With the cold weather turning here now, I wear it all the time. I love it!!!
