Wow, Jen. Nice "outhouse!" LOL You have more solar panel power than I have for my house backup! Note to self: get more panels! Thanks for the tour!

I'm thinking of more panels for the cabin now. First, I have to change out the cabin batteries as they are quite old. Thanks for watching.

@@TheWildYam I *HIGHLY* recommend using sealed (AGM) batteries for your application, Jen. That's what I use, and they are perfect for indoor use. They can be installed in any position, too, and require NO maintenance. Good luck with the project!!

A comfortable place to sit and think. In Australia, they call outhouses a dunny, not sure why but a good name nonetheless. I recently went camping with a Canadian expat friend, and he referred to the camp site outhouse as a kybo - which is something I remembered from my scouting days back in Canada. So many names for a basic human requirement need.

We have a cabin like yours with a really old outhouse (we are just south of you in Ontario). We usually go home after 2 days max because we don't have the means to truly wash. This would be ideal for us. Do you have any sources for plans for this type of 'outhouse'? Did you need a permit? Also how do you deal with the mosquitoes!!? They are so horrible this year. ;-)

Nice set up. In the summer, how would you keep the shower or sink water from getting too hot?
@TheWildYam Жыл бұрын
I would shade part of the tubing. Warmer showers are between 2-5pm. It cools down fast after that.

Thank you very helpful tips as I’m setting up my off the grid cabin. The insurance tips were just super. Curious how many watts your winter solar panels are on the old house? 50 each??
@ryeweaver46298 ай бұрын
This is nice and love the setup. I have a 12 acres and my house is at the front of the property where is the road is, which I want to build a bathroom with shower in the back of my property. It be perfect to use restaurant and shower if needed after maintenance the property and guest can use it too without going into my house. Only thing im trying decide and how to setup for the toilet as black tank and let the septic company come out and clean it or connect to my septic in the back. Any suggestion?
