I feel the same way, at the start of the vid' he's talking about melee... I can't stand the attack animations when the character isn't even holding the pick axe properly. Let alone the melee system in general... it needs a lot of work. The game is a forever beta and it's sad.

@@RewdAwakening its not like every single game has to have 1:1 accurate idle stances and animations, it seems to be very complicated when it comes to adding new attack animations since it took them like 15 months to implement already teased in 0.63 stress test patch notes baseball bat animations. Still, there are games with worse animations like skyrim and its the game that is 70% mele combat.

@@RewdAwakening saddest part about it is that its not gonna change. lets be honest what other game comes up to dayzs level accept for scum which isnt even finished and i can guarantee no one would be surprised if scum ends up in the same state as dayz "stagnant". the truth of the matter is that we will never get a fully fleshed out survival game. the reason we wont get a fully fleshed out survival game inst because its too hard to make, its because there is no monetization. there is no money to be made after you purchase the base game and or dlc.

I have almost 2000 hours of DayZ, and I couldn’t agree more with him when he said the game gets boring when you’re geared.. it’s true! This game is about random and spontaneous adventures. Most of the high pop servers now focus so much around PVP. You’re geared within 3 mins of spawning. I wish the official servers weren’t full of hackers; I crave vanilla DayZ. Booted it up on console the other day just so I could experience vanilla in all its glory…. (It runs terrible on console tho so that didn’t last long 😂)

There are some lightly modded servers that just add new guns but keep everything else the same. Check some of those out.

Thats why i like namalsk so much, the interactions while trying to survive a harsh climate and the wild animals even other players are always the best, and it also adds a little endgame for the people that are already geared with all the athena stuff

I think it comes from playing the game a bunch, and also playing stuff like tarkov. Like sure, you could play slow and up your chances of survival. But most people like shroud would rather play faster pace for a high risk high reward type playstyle. My thought has always been what is the point of having good gear if you aren't going to bother using it? (Edit- Also like he said in the video, the most boring part is when you get great gear, and become an isolationist that is too afraid to interact with other people.)

For what shroud was addressing earlier about the game getting boring after you get geared i agree, i feel like they should add some types of trading and raiding mechanics to DayZ to flesh it out a bit more give the world some life, maybe add some convoy protection that other players can choose to defend or raid type shit some new quests or something like that

1.14 has a simple but effective melee stealth kill animation being added. Supposedly a rework on general melee combat hit boxes too…. At least the devs are listening to a degree.

That table in military checkpoints does spawn loot but not often and sometimes there is loot on the ground near it but you usually don't notice it, and I only play official servers......

If the best part about the game is the new player experience, why hasn't anyone done what Stalker has done, but multiplayer? I happen to agree with Shroud about that too. There was a game a while ago that was a complete mess called Nether. That kept a lot of players in that new experience phase of the game because it was so difficult to stay alive for casual players. PvE was brutal. That sort of experience is a little more hardcore, but it would do a good job at keeping people entertained for longer. Keep people in that grind to survive for longer.

What’s worse than no sound (which was obviously fixed since this was recorded) is getting blown up through a concrete wall like y’all were. You can tell that’s what happened by how the bodies fell and how there was no effects from the nade explosion.

I know this is an old video but I haev to write about something that happened the other day. I met a player in Cherno. I was sick from the flu at the time so we went towards an inland town to find meds. On the way there we shared stuff and talked and after a while he catched the flu from me. A time later he actually fell unconcious from being sick so I tried to find some stuff and ran into two players, I killed one and scared the other one off so I could loot his friend. Found meds, ran back and almost at the very second I returned with the meds my friend died. I probably couldn't have save dhim anyway but it felt so sad.

7:00 agreed, people say Dayz is boring because there's not a lot of people to kill all the time, but that's how I think the game should be played, I mean sometimes yeah killing is fun but I have so much more fun when I rp with people. Best concept for game ever but probably one of the worst executions for a game ever, but the dev team is small so you can't blame them. I hope dayz catches a break and actually starts improving.

Ark is infinitely better than Dayz for survival. I'm new to DayZ and i'm enjoying it a lot but there's zero chance I would ever even come close to playing it for 18,000 hours. Ark is just built different and there's always more to do so the replayability is leagues ahead in my opinion.

That‘s the first thing dayz players learn. Never waste your time on the large buildings/apartments because the devs will NEVER fix it. This has been requested for so many years and they just don‘t give a shit. Players usually avoid those places and because of that those areas became famous sniper/base spots. 😄 Dayz will probably be fixed if we get 1 or 2 more map expansions so Mod creators can actually bring back the OG Maps from the old days. That‘s when dayz will really popp off
