Today I'm playing Faint Dream ~ Inanimate Dream on piano! This is the final boss theme from Touhou 4 LLS, and quite possibly my favorite PC-98 song ever. It's just so intense!
(...even though the fight itself is probably one of the easiest stage 6 bosses in the series lol)
Since this is a special theme for me, I also incorporated the unused version of Faint Dream. Enjoy!!

woke up this morning, saw this, and freaked out. faint dream ~ inanimate dream is easily my second favorite pc-98 song (number one spot goes to legendary illusion ~ infinite being), both the regular and unused versions, so seeing both of them covered here was a good way to start the week! i love how you incorporated bits of sleeping terror in as well.

One part from the start reminds me of gain ground's stage soundtrack, and as i played that game for a massive amount of hours when i was a kid, the melody always gives me a nostalgic feeling, therefore making me return to this theme

Man, it always amazes me how smoothly your fingers move from each note, i can only hope to achieve that kind of skill someday! This song is definitely one of the most memorable once from the PC-98 era, right next to Alice in Wonderland.

Dude I love this theme. I think this one vastly overshadows the stage 5 theme. I love Yuuka all around even if sometimes the gap moe is a bit confusing. The first time I ever got hit with that double master spark, haha... boy. I swore to myself it wouldn't happen a second time. And it didn't! I cleared HSiFS last night. I beat Okina on my first try, baby!! Oh yeah!! My mentor, too, somehow got his hard clear he was looking for, before we agreed to move on to Wily Bitch and Weakest Fucker. I had a whole comment planned, right, because he told me he probably wasn't going to be able to play much for a bit because he's in the process of getting his fucking PhD. But then he just smashes out the clear he was looking for like it's nothing. So I guess we're starting WBaWC tomorrow.

I absolutely love this one! Imo it really shows the sheer brute strength Yuuka possesses (in the perspective of lore, not gameplay LMAO). I liked how you deviated from the usual key at 1:25 , but whatever you did after that bit, I did not recognize. Was that improvised or did I forget a theme of some sort?

I'm Korean, and I love your touhou piano playing. Yuuka has a theme in PoFV as well, but I, like you, overwhelmingly prefer the theme from LLS. I think it reinforces her strength and mystery. She's the strongest thing ever, but at the same time, she seems like she could disappear through a field of flowers... FAINT DREAM.

Most people probably started with Touhou 6, however that game is actually kind of crazy for a first playthrough (especially on higher difficulties) IMHO the best Touhou games to start with are actually 7, 8 and 10. They're fairly balanced and feature some of the most iconic characters and music tracks. Also, do not be ashamed of playing on Easy Mode, especially if you're not used to bullet hell games. Oh, and stay away from Touhou 11, 12 and 15. You do not wanna start with those lol

The game being covered here, LLS, is also extremely easy (extra stage is pretty damn hard though), so you might like trying it out for a first entry.

oh also avoid th18, i made the mistake of starting with it and it took me a while to get used to not having the funny drum card it's a really solid game with a very fun gimmick, don't get me wrong, but starting with ability cards can make it harder to *not* have them.
