Discomfort Designs needs to come up with a distortion pedal called *PHANTOM PAIN*
@legoharry10015 күн бұрын
Snake… Why are we still here… Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg, and my arm… and even my fingers… The body I’ve lost… and the comrades I’ve lost… It won’t stop hurting, like they’re all still there… You feel it too, don’t you?
@matthewtop15 күн бұрын
That'd be sick. Make it a hybrid of an oscillating fuzz and reverse/auto swell machine and bam i'm there
@AbrahamNewman-yj2ch13 күн бұрын
haha yea I figured the artwork would be gruesome

Or Phantom Pains!

It's beautiful, like it completes your music adding his little notes "hey I want to say things too!"
@ShallieDragon15 күн бұрын
It seems very similar to the Chase Bliss Mood, but for a lot less money. And also kinda does its own thing, which is fun. We need more ambient microloopers, so this is a welcome sight.
@ShallieDragon15 күн бұрын
Thinking about it, the big advantage it has over the Mood (and the Microcosm, by extension) is the fact that it's much simpler and easier to use. No menu diving, no alt functions, no foot dancing. Just turn it on, give it a little tweak, and let the sparkles happen.

Yeah I feel like pedal companies are now starting to take CBA’s creative approach to pedals but are simplifying it, making it more user friendly and yes much cheaper. I remember I wanted Outward so bad and I was sad I didn’t have $400 to drop however I came across the MXR layers and for less than half of the price it does practically the same thing. I just needed a drone pedal and it got the job done

adore these kinds of pedals and you can never have too many as they each have a particular character and can surprise you differently

Oh hell yeah Discomfort Designs! I have one of their Life Pedal clones that I picked up years and years ago when the original life pedals were like... A bagillion dollars. They make great stuff

That’s an intriguing pedal. On the list to try out. Thanks Emily! 🎸😎

I don't have any pedals (now) but if I ever got another one this would it. I love the sounds that you can get from it. Earthquaker makes some really neat pedals too but this I would use for everything except for bass guitar.
@jeremysmith462015 күн бұрын
Hey its a pedal you can plug in a harp and somehow instantly recreate Múm's first handful of albums. Rad. Now I have to go listen to "The ghosts you draw on my back," which if you've never heard you're missing out if you dig Icelandic Indietronica.

That I-V-vi-IV chord progression in the first demo part made me think I was in a telephone commercial, but this damn thing sounds cloyingly beautiful. It would be a great way to fill out my slow-assed live playing, and make it seem like I'm playing more and better notes. Usually it takes me 2 pedals and some layering and offsetting and crossfading in post, to get that same type of result. As far as stereo... put it on your R stereo output and then chase it with a stereo-izer... and then put your L stereo output thru a normal reverb... and then you end up with 2 stereo pairs to mix, starting from a single stereo output... but that's okay, because it sounds full that way.
@jonaseggen223015 күн бұрын
Sounds a bit like Mutable Instruments Beads to me. But maybe not so strange? Beads is also a delay, haz a freeze function, variable speed, pitching and and and, so...
@RichardQuirkmusic15 күн бұрын
Always room for more quirks in music. thanks for the intro to this pedal. I wish there were options for playing the loops could be played octaves down (slower) but the granular pitched up seems to be the popular flavour with pedal these days. Have you tried this pedal with your CB Habit?
@LalisasToxicHusband15 күн бұрын
In fairness, I haven't heard of any pedals. So the best pedal I've never heard of is by definition the best pedal of all time. I'm just here because Emily is cute

Every pedal modulates delay time and/or frequency response and/or transfer-function and/or dynamic range. In any order. That's it. Reverb, phaser, chorus and harmoniser are modulated delays. Distortion, overdrive and saturation are transfer-functions. Filters and EQ are operations in the frequency domain, Compression and exapansion are automation of signal amplitude. Goodbye.
