Best part is: this entire song is his original composition. Despite his amazing skills regarding piano, he's sadly unheard of. Think Charles Alkan, the man had a stronger playing ability than Liszt himself at his time but had been forgotten. Jason Pelsey is no different.

Techniques are pre-made, and not exactly set rules either. People have, and can have their own techniques, and styles. I have my own Piano style, as well as my own typing technique and style. Just because this guy isn't following any of the norms doesn't mean it's horrible, lmao. This still sounds beautiful to me and a lot of others, and regardless of what ever style you say he lacks, the melody is still a pleasure to the ears of so many.

However, playing fast just for the sake of playing fast or just playing uncomfortably loud (at parts of the video) doesn't sound the best in my opinion. +Albert Horovitz Who says that's what he has to perform? Why do we have to listen to music that's hundreds of years old? I was reading a great piece on musicians with an emphasis on the creation of music. The best musicians are the ones who create to please themselves first. Sure, those musicians were great in their time, but if that's all we listen to, we can't progress the art. We can perfect their creations, but what does that say about us? Look at military bands, especially in the United States. All they play are Carl King and Sousa. When was the last great march? What about the other music they play? It's all transcription of modern pop and jazz music. It gets real old real fast. This man makes beautiful music. Hopefully someday people will be preserving the memory of Jason Pesley and his music.
