Hi, Izzy, you are superb. I am a native Mandarin speaker, and I'd like to recommend a podcast called “you can learn Chinese”. It's a English speaking podcast where non-native Chinese learning experts discuss how to learn the language. Therefore it's more a study forum than a Mandarin listening skill practice resource. I find it very inspirational for other language learners.

The last podcast called "Dashu Mandarin" is really the best out of all and the best thing about their podcast is it will help you understand the Chinese culture more deeply with three different highly qualified teachers plus they belong to the different province of china which will also help you learn to listen different dialects i have been listening to their podcast from episode 1 and it has helped me to improve my listening ability and also being able to learn some daily life vocabulary and it also give you the subtitle option so if you came across new words you can search in Chinese dictionary and find their meaning and can easily understand their conversation

I'd like to recommend a podcast called "Chinese Language Convo Club". One native speaker who usually speaks only in Chinese, and an American who pivots between Mandarin and English. My favorite part is the pronunciation training at the end of each episode. I haven't found other podcasts that do just that so far. It's great for putting sentences together (one of my weak areas) and better pronunciation. Just my 2 cents! ;)

Thanks for this! My favorite podcast recently has been MaoMi Chinese, which is sort of lower-intermediate level. She picks really interesting topics, uploads a free transcript on the website, and speaks somewhat slowly (but not beginner-slow). Highly recommend! 👍
@geolykos9 ай бұрын
Tried it but she talks nonstop without explaining almost anything. Maybe good for picking up accent but if you don’t know what it’s about it won’t help with learning the language. Maybe good for advanced students.
@absbsbrkdndjrb9 ай бұрын
@@geolykosit might be true that it wouldn't be perfect for true beginners but immersion like that in a language, even if you aren't following everything (or even just a little) is a great way to learn, even if it is frustrating. You don't have to use this kind of podcast if it isn't your style, but it is one of the best ways to get better at a language!
@analogpark80598 ай бұрын
@@geolykos She talks way too slow for advanced students. If you're trying to really get something out of MaoMi you should use the transcript on the website while listening. It's super convenient--just tap the character and a little dictionary entry pops up.

Try "Mandarin Monkey", they're a great Chinglish podcast from an English/Taiwanese couple who have a conversation where one of them speaks English and the other speaks Chinese the whole time. Adding to all the great Taiwanese podcasts recommendations that are on this comment section, here are some great ones I listen to non-stop: - 'Learn Taiwanese Mandarin', short episodes, no English but still understandable for intermediates, I love each episodes content and how entertaining the host makes them -'Talk Taiwanese mandarin with Abby', Abby is amazing and all her topics are super interesting, the episodes are really short (less then 20 min) - 'Learn Chinese, the Taiwanese way', intermediate mandarin lessons, also on the shorter side. - '旅歐三小事', two girls talking about their different travel experiences, great fun, no English but a great way to feel like you're in the conversation with them. Any Taiwanese podcast recommendations for myself are also appreciated ~

I really enjoy Takeaway Chinese. It's about 30mins of chat in English and Mandarin. The presenters have a great rapport - one is an American living in Beijing, the other a native speaker. The topics and the conversation are lively and I usually learn or consolidate a fair bit of language. I also learn a lot of cultural stuff there. The down side is the American guy's tones are all over the place so I try to block his Chinese answers out 😂 It's worth listening to twice because there can be several new idioms introduced at once. I like it because I enjoy it's conversational entertaining manner and I look forward to it.
