How does this video not have more views? Thank you sir I am a DIYer and I've had trouble looking for the right polishing equipment for my multi-spoke aluminum wheels. Most companies sell tools mainly for big rig wheels and trucks and finding quality buff/polish cones has been a real hassle. But your video has been a big help!

The good news is, our videos are growing in views, but there's a LOT of video competition. Thanks for watching and commenting. -Mike Phillips

Thanks for showing the use of the bowl for holding the liquid polish! It makes a better way to get on the polishing balls rather than than pouring on them.

Weird? My reply no longer shows up? Not sure what this is about? That's okay, I copy, paste and save all my comments. So here's try number 2 I've incorporated these stainless-steel dog dishes from the Dollar Store for all types of detailing related tasks. Watch for my machine tire scrubbing and dressing video. Great video as always!! Would you recommend any other types of polish for aluminum wheels or is that your go to? I know you have to recommend the ones that yiu work for but are there any others that will do as well as the white diamonds? Thanks again!!!

At this time, I'm not sure what the *"BEST"* aluminum polish is on the market today. Here's the deal, it's pretty easy to create a mechanical aluminum polish that excels at doing the rough work, that is taking something very neglected back to a good shine. The difficult product to create is the polish, this means the abrasive technology, is such that it can remove a defect without leaving it's own defect behind. This assumes all other factors are controlled. I have a blog article I'm almost done with that shows how I tackled this entire project. In it, are pictures of *Pad Marring*, this is where an aggressive buffing pad leaves its own mark in the aluminum. Then I show how I removed it. Stay tuned and thanks for watching and commenting. -Mike Phillips

Mike - you used metal polish because these wheels are bare, non-clear-coated metal, correct? If they were clear-coated, you’d just treat them as paint and use paint polish - is that right? If the wheels were powder coated, would you use paint polish?

Yes, these are BARE aluminum, also called uncoated aluminum and also referred to as polished aluminum. My class detailed this car but we didn't have time to get to the wheels, so I had the owner leave the car here for a few days SPECIFICALLY because it had visibly oxidized and spotted bare aluminum. Worked out perfect for showcasing 5 popular options for polishing aluminum. If these were painted, and filled with scratches from improper washing or whatever, I would have pointed out the damage to the owner and walked away. Wheel paint tends to be much harder than car paint and a lot more difficult to polish. Plus, the shape of the wheel makes it very time-consuming. Thanks for watching and commenting. -Mike Phillips

Thank you Mike Phillips for always thinking of those people who don’t have all the tools and equipment to take the wheels off 🫡👍

Thanks for pointing this out. I'm totally capable of removing the wheels and showing how to do it with wheels off, but I also know a lot of Do-it-Yourselfers simply don't have the ability or the inclination for taking off all 4 wheels. In the future, I'll be making a wheels-off video. Thanks for watching and commenting. -Mike Phillips
