I think a big part about why it seems so easy in these road to """" series' is because high ranked players know when they have to go and what ball is fine to just leave. there are a lot of c2/c3 players that can consistently air dribble (I got very consistent at them myself) but we can't use them if people don't give us the space thats needed since our setups are not like zen where he can turn any touch into anything he wants. If I get the space / people challenge stupidly I can easily score 9/10 air dribble attempts top corner against the last man. but getting the space for it is just rare. plus its not really hard to defend air dribbles I believe that 1v1 helps with this mainly as it teaches you this skill of knowing when you have to challenge a setup / bounce dribble / dribble and when they dont have control and just give it away.

Perfect! and this is really key what you have said. And this sort of plays into my rocket league theory. The time you get space is when the opposing team rotates, in that time they either take to long and you get the space. Or the rotating in player dives and misses or messes up, giving you space for the 2v1. My idea is that we don't rotate and instead have roles and zones, this way you never give the opponent their preferred space to work and can mentally wear them down as they will be unable to attack in a way they enjoy. The other thing I would say is that although some people find air dribbles easy to defend. I feel that the highest success shot in the game is not the air dribble bump, but the air dribble 50. Thank you for watching :D

23:18 - Mental weakness.... yes, it is cultural with young men (maybe for a long time?) ... this isn't just Rocket League.

The people everyone are listening to are so mechanically gifted that they just don't understand how to advice average players. I think Rizzo is a nice example of a player that wasn't particularly mechanical has a great understanding of fundamentals, it seems players like him are getting more scarce in RLCS. Lethamyr and Flakes have both and would be real powerhouses in RLCS if they would really go for it. (never understood why 2s isn't a thing in RLCS) Also it would be cool if you could interview that last player, 'the player of the series', why he got so angry maybe the both of you can learn from it.

Much appreciated! Unfortunately when it comes to RLCS I think Leth and Flakes wouldn't get very far now days, the skill is much higher. However, they are incredible players and miles better than I will ever/ could ever be, truly awesome players. One thing I would say is that the top players are extremely fundamentally sound as well as insanely mechanical :)

It's funny how small turns can have so much impact. Like at 14:32 you did powerslide and reverse turn which let you have a completely different vision on the ball. In 1s I notice this a lot. Before I used to sit on ground but now I match the height of ball first and then turn/reverse to get proper angle. This way the opponent doesn't challenge or if they do I have proper vision to outplay them

Hahah so true, amazing the difference in angles and vision you can get doing so. The best player ever at doing this was called Florus, unbelievable ground control, even by todays standards :D

It's crazy to see how quick teammates are willing to give up on a game. Just hit champ a few weeks back and man they can be extremely toxic. Another great video, keep it up.

Yeah and unfortunately it gets much, much worse the higher up and the earlier in the season, people are more than happy to throw away ranked games. Thanks for the comment and support :D
