When I first met Kellie, I could not get her to go camping. However, back in 2016 she went on her first trip and was hooked. So we have been going every weekend (except heat advisories) ever since.

@leabethcampbell3814 жыл бұрын
Well...I'm doing it right! This whole "find a dispersed campsite" thing is NOT as easy as I thought given the zillions of FS roads here in AR. Most recently, I got shut down 2 miles from site I was only trying to put eyes on for next weekend, when rocks on road became so pointed my tires sounded like they were going to pop. And 2 miles is like 40 min of driving on that. You know. Also...I lost cell signal at that point and didn't have my garmin activated (and was alone). Had to turn around. First world dispersed camping problems, I know. Still a beautiful adventure in and out!! Thanks for video and ideas!

So, I am all for the joy of exploring. And what you are doing is something that I am recently trying to get into. I love the Ouachita National Forest. I've been to Albert Pike for a hike and want to explore more. Here is my MAJOR concern... What guidelines do you use to determine if it is private land or public land that you are camping on? Even finding ways to access a stream for kayaking seems so convoluted (to me). And the last thing I want is to upset a land owner by trespassing. Can you give us your rule of thumb when looking at maps how you resolve those concerns? Enjoying the videos you post. All the best.
@CodyandKellie4 жыл бұрын
Sure thing! We use google earth and maps to find an area of interest. Then we will US Forestry Service map to determine if that property is privately or publicly owned. Here is the link to the US Forestry Service www.fs.fed.us/ivm/index.html We then will place a pin on google maps so we know that it is publicly owned and use that to get us to our destination. We normally will try and have a few places of interest before we go scout out the camping spots. For state wild life management lands, we use the Arkansas Game and Fish website. Here is a link to that. apps.agfc.com/mapper/ PleAse let us know if you need anything else! Thank you for watching!

National Forest are public lands. Within this lands there are spots that have fire rings and people have camped at before. But you have to drive down dirt roads that sometimes can be loose gravel, washed out, or other hazards that you might not want to drive your Harley down.

Well, I live in Arkansas and I am glad you found this area. I and my family have been there many times through out the years as kids and as adults. The concern here is that the Coronavirus is real so be safe. Arkansans don't have a full blown issue here and we would like to keep it that way, i.e., outsiders bringing it in. Enjoy, but do your social distancing and please be responsible. Another concern of mine and other Arkansans is that since the Coronavirus issue surfaced, we have had people that live out of Arkansas coming in as a safe haven. While doing so, these people have caused damage to our state and deface priceless artifacts and leaving garbage and debris lying around on State property. With that said, please make sure to advise your viewers and audience to be mindful and considerate. Please tell them to clean up after themselves while visiting this wonderful state of Arkansas. Remember no trace left behind is the true motto of a camper. Thanks, Darwin A.
