These are so cool to see! I collect sports autos and a lot of them I get by sending to the players through the mail. That would be so cool to get the artists but I'm guessing they only sign at the events? Great returns, thanks for showing!

I thought grading cards was bad enough when you are talking about such miniscule factors which determine different grades. However grading signatures takes miniscule differences for different grades to a whole new level, lol. Love the content and grading videos but how they come to some of these grades literally is swept over head and enjoy looking at the cards or reaction to the grades the most rather than the actual grade even though a 10 in a case will always look good 👍

Depends. If the card is a 4 or a 5, prob not the card. Clean auto, then just the auto. Bad for both, authentic only. If you can get a high grade, take it.

how do you know where/when illustrators will be signing cards? I have been dying to meet Ryo Ueda or Ken Sugimori

Two very tough ones. Himeno is in Charlotte in 10 days or so. Sugimori would take a miracle. I could see spots being $10k each. Ueda is a similar story. It'd be sweet if they did.

@@GemMintPokemon that's a shame, one of my favorite cards is the Rayquaza ex 39 promo by Ueda and I have a copy with a god swirl perfectly in the center of the artwork (if you know the artwork, you'll see why a swirl being right in the middle is amazing 😅) and getting it signed is a mission of mine

@PokeJohn7 There's always a chance. It's better to be ready when the opportunity presents itself. Autos are a really cool and experience-driven way to enjoy the hobby further. I'm working on 5 or so cards from each artist to have ready. Just in case they do a signing. You can get your favorite and a few others if your lucky. Getting one card signed in Japan is a great honor by their standards. Out of respect, it's meant to be a very special gift from the artist to you. Limiting to 1 card (usually 100 people per signing) keeps it that way. The card is so sentimental, you'd never sell it. Long story short, I hope all artists sign again. I'm preparing a few cards just in case.

Question for you.. I see you didn’t get the cards graded. Would a bad grade hurt the value or you just didn’t want to see a gm10 auto with a 5 card. I’m submitting an autorgraphed card myself. I know the card has some surface damage but the autograph is really clean and sharp. I was thinking of doing dual grading but I’m afraid a low card score is going to impact the value. It’s not a Pokémon card though, it’s actually a WWF card.

Auto only. Once the card is below an 8, the condition doesn't really matter unless it's damaged. Having a clean, protected, un-smudged auto that pops is more valuable. Many artists, you can't dictate how they sign; it's on their terms and you have limited time. So a high grade auto looks nice and strong. Seeing a 4, 5, or 6 takes away from the overall appeal when I'm probably paying the same price on every low grade.

@@GemMintPokemon appreciate it... yeah so this particular card sat in a top loader for probably 25 years in my moms basement. Looks like the toploader kind of got stuck to the top part of the card and some of thee finish came off. Even with that, it still has great eye appeal head on. You can notice it only if you angle it a certain way.. The autograph on the other hand is unharmed at all and looks really good. I compared it to other high auto graded cards and think mine is easily just as good / better. I know the card is 100% lower than an 8 though solely based on the imperfections

I think the autograph has the possibility of coming back as a gem mint 10. Would hate to have that paired with a psa 4 or 5 on the label

If you’re interested in seeing which cards .. it’s 1998 WWF Comic Images The Rock. Pulled it autographed from a pack as a kid. Completely forgot about it until I found it. Then I remembered the day like it was yesterday. Your video on autographs was perfect timing for this. Enjoyed it
