Steve, not tried this yet but I started to look at the hole instead of the ball 12 months ago, distance perception/control improved massively. Why look at the ball anyway, you’ve set up properly, just rock your shoulders. When you throw a ball to someone, you look at them, not your hand. Similar topic really - be target focussed, less on technique! Excellent as always.

Because contact can vary which is why all pros look at the ball w every club...

I’ve actually been doing this for a few months now after watching Paul Wilson’s video No Problem but wiggles his putter back then strikes the ball. Same thing as this bouncing you’re doing here. It really does work! It’s amazing.

I saw Paul's video last year and it's strange but it works! I got so rigid thinking putter had to go back in the perfect fashion, killed any feel I had! So glad it has been further promoted, great stuff Steve.

@@stevejohnstongolf Hi Steve, I honestly was a bit sceptical at the start so I put more effort into this and now with 3 full putting practices before each round all I can say is it works! A bit of background for me. A 50 year old golfer who has been playing since I was 8 and still have a mid single handicap. I’m a straight back and threw (using a Spider GT designed for this style) and my improvement was around 15% on accuracy. The first round didn’t see any difference. Hence why it’s taken time to respond as I wanted to keep trying it on the practice green so I didn’t tap tap during any rounds. The last round was with the club captain at my home course and he commented that my putting stroke just looked more relaxed and much more consistent. Thank you so much for this game changer tip as I now am more relaxed and confident with putter in hand. Just another golfer still learning on ways to improve. Cheers mate, Marcus.

According to Shotlink… At 33 feet PGA tour pros begin to 3 putt more than they 2 putt. Top amateur golfers, same stat at 25 feet.

But what happens when the green is dry and fast? I had trouble my last round, I putted 45 times, and my GIR on the back was 75% yet I 3 putted 6 times.
@rodneyblackwell74776 ай бұрын
I live in Thailand and the greens are slow but visit Melbourne sand belt courses where the green speeds are notoriously fast. I have to slow down my back swing on the putts. On super fast downhill putts I might hit the ball from the toe of the putter
