I was extremely impressed with this quest. I teared up, I loved the twists, and I think their ability to completely change my view of Furina was pretty cool. I am very excited for the future of the quests and story telling if this is what they are capable of in Genshin Impact

the moment she begged for her people to believe that she's the hydro archon made me crying like a baby. but, it's not during that part it's after few scene afterwards. after we get to know that she must deceives fontaine people to save them. if they found out who she really is they're all die. although it's not in the story but i believe it's like after she begged for her people i can tell that she whispers in her heart "please or all of you will die". she may not the real archon but she has the heart of archon.

Both Neu and furina are without a doubt some of the best written characters in the game. Almost like they were meant to be part of a big story and at the end the curtain closed for one of them. Zhongli is probably the strongest since from what we have seen he is the only actual surviving archon of the archon war especially since neuv doesnt have the gnosis still and obv we arent including the heavenly principles/hexenzirkel etc

What the Gnosis did was, hold the sovereignty over the elements as long as the Elemental Throne in Celestia still stood(in this case Hydro Throne). When the Hydro Throne from Celestia fell after Focalors passed, she willed her Gnosis to Neuvilette and his full authority over hydro came back in that moment. Meaning, he doesn't need the Gnosis to get his full power back. TLDR: Neuvillette doesn't need the Gnosis to be in full power.

keep in mind that furina is 50% of focalors, dont misunderstand the divinity of focalors that talked with neuvi as the complete focalors as she addresed this in her dialogue reffering herself as "I, the divinity of focalors" as the other half. focalors is still alive as furina, though just a normal human without godhood powers & authority of hydro

I've never really seen Traveller as the 'main' character tbh, it's just like what he says in this quest that "we're just a Witness". And as Nicole said, we're basically just playing our 'part' in altering the fate of Teyvat. Neuvillette & Furina were definitely the heart and soul of Fontaine arc.

if only the quest design would always have the same QUALITY, like this main quest ..., but the range of writing quality is really reminding its players every time, how shockingly huge th game is there - it feels like as if the story writers for the main quests and the people responsible for the overall quest design for the smaller quests are completely different people... here with the Main story, you get delivered high quality storytelling full of deep emotions, sramaturgy, full of tons of storytelling techniques able to completely deceive you and trick you into thinking you see a reality, just to see the next scene, everything was a trick. A Story that delivers its mature content, just to get then confronted constantly ever and ever and ever again by MHY in the Side Quests with silly braindead Childs that make our Character look like some kind of babysitter....as if MHY is trying here to be kind of "political correct" in a weird way... like say, Genshin Impact ist no game playable by childs, if theres ton tons of little kids presented in every single patch that are somehow quest relevant ... Even to the point that they are indirectly woven into the lore of a whole region - at least in appearance. 4.2 was again CHILD OVERLOAD... and all the Melusine basically as kind of "childs" - Lanoire - Kevin - Penny - Caterpillar - Talochard & Curve All of Narzissenkreutz was basically a bunch of 4 freaking kids and her oceanid babysitter .... as usual, when it could have been so much better, would it have received a more mature storytelling and actually mature characters, not freakign KIDS for the sake of having just kids represented in the game, cause a game is nowadays no game anymore, if not virtual kids are presented everywhere in all quests ... sigh

If you look at her constelation, even though she is a human, her constelation symbol is the image of herself. Just like how the other archons constellation looks like. Even as a human, Furina is the best Archon Fontaine could have.

I'm not one that cries often when consuming media, only other pieces of fiction that I cried to was One Piece and Cyberpunk Edgerunners. This story quest had me waterfalling tears at 2 points and I didn't even realize it as it was happening. Loved this quest so much and it made slugging through Sumeru worth it.

For a lot of people, this quest changed there perspective on Furina, but I think people with a sense for story could tell the it was heading in this direction from the beginning, that Furina was a much more resilient and respectable character than many assumed. As for me, Furina was my favorite character the moment she stepped on screen. I’m just glad they didn’t drop the ball, blew it out of the water, and did her and Neuvillette justice. People who say the quest completely changed their perception of Furina really have zero reading comprehension. Her setup to be a tragic heroine was so clear from the start it's really obvious if you've experienced any other story at all. Genshin Impact sometimes suffer from seemingly pointless events and filler content. However, the major quests and some character developments are peak fiction. The 4.2 archon quest was simply incredible, easily among the top experiences I've had in any game throughout the year.

If you look at Neuvillette bio. It's kind of confirmed that Neuvillette is the one who gave vision to furina, that's why her vision has claws :)

The scene @52:04 where Neu is floating, I think it would be nice to add a small detail regarding Celestia or the Heavenly Principles as she was challenged and deceived by the Hydro Archon. Like a little flash of red light up the sky would be nice, indicating she noticed she lost one of The Seven.

With the giving back of the power to the hydro dragon rational, at the end of the Mondstat archon quest, when we’re on the back of Dvalin, Venti does something to Dvalin, and then Dvalin asks if it’s the power of the anemo archon. If this is the case, Venti pulled a 200iQ move giving back the power because then Signora stole an empty gnosis. No wonder he didn’t fight back when she took it.

Unfortunately that’s not how it fully works. To give back the authority of the ancient dragons. One must destroy the divine throne which is the seven. So it’s not possible to just casually return the power. Since it’s a system set by celestia.

I was crying while playing through this quest, Furina was my fav character already before, but seeing her actual background and everything just set her position as my fav for good. Especially because in a sense many people including me fight with the same struggles as her… Putting on a mask and acting like everything is fine when it clearly isnt in front of everyone while in reality we feel lonely. This is BY FAR the best written character in all of Genshin together with Neauvillette hands down and its not even close. The story, the drama, the emotions I felt everything and Ive never been this immersed in a game like this for so so long

All Furina needed was a vacation with Venti and Zhongli and she could have done something else. Zhongli is 6000 years old, he could have gave her some useful intel on how to deal with her problem, and Venti is friends with the Mages, a powerful group that is probably composed of at least 1 descender that probably is the reason why the Traveler was summoned to Teyvat. The *N* acts as our guide revealed in this Archon quest, that's sus....

Now that we look back at the court scene again, it was pure pain and pale despair for Furina. She was literally losing bit by bit the only hope she found and believed in for 500 years, by the hand of those who she was trying so hard to save. It really is mental torture, I see no justice in this, not one bit.
