Never did order the switchback for my bday in November lol I held off bc I still had 3 arc one builds running at the time, but I finally decided I’m getting some switchbacks. After flying a friends side by side with my arc one builds I definitely want a couple of them in my fleet this year. I just think those switchback motors are a bit much for me lol. I’m used the the 2207’s but I usually run a 1750 kv, the 1960 was a serious kick in the pants. I loved it. I just know on a race track ima have to cap them at least to 80 till I get better. But after a year of racing I’m finally progressing again. I think racing the toothpicks has helped my 5” game a lot lately.

Update... I finally got the switchback in hand and currently building it 👍. I need to look at camera options. I’ve got a nano toothless 2 in hand but it sits back in the mount and I just know ima see the mount in my goggles when I get it flying. Just ordered a nano predator and hopefully that pulls the lens out a little further. But at the same time I have some 45 and 50 deg mounts on the way from danimalfpv 👍

Excellent video man - looking forward to seeing the fleet at Nats!

Looks like a great frame. When I run out of arc one parts I’m deg gonna grab one of these. 👍 with this frame and Chief’s new frame and the arc one there’s definitely some great frames out now a days. I love the arc one but feel it’s a little on the heavy side especially with a canopy on it. But it works for me and has been super tough and I’ve yet to break anything on mine. But I want to shave weight and I think this frame may help.

Truc has the Box upgrade pieces for the ARC-1 also. If it's not broken, keep flying what you have. I'm having to tell myself that constantly, because I have older frames I can't kill off, but want a stack of these anyway.

tehllama42 lol yep I’ve got a set on the way from kinetic aerial 👍.

I've watched Shaun Taylor fly (and crash) the poop out of his - they're remarkably durable. The box version will shed the side director plates in crashes, but it's better than snapping other parts.

Oh I want to see how you built it you think you can send me the video on how you built it And how did you shape your ESC like that can you use like normal scissors and how do I put in the XT60 on??? That’s the part that confused me

So, when things calm down, is a FlyFive 777 a realistic possibility? 6mm Arms, massive wiggle plate, arm braces - would be the best 7" frame out there.

Is this a true x frame?

I'm a little sad that the hobbywing 60a requires the battery pads to be trimmed if you want the battery leads to go out the rear.
@Mondo_FPV5 жыл бұрын
Some pilots prefer to just run the HW 60A sideways but since the frame was designed around 20x20 its hard to make room for all 30x30 electronics on the market. Many 30x30 4in1s fit without any modifications.

Shawn, how difficult was it to cut the little corners off of the power pads on the HW 60a?

is it too tight with 30x30? planning on swapping my hobbywing 60a+furiousracepit

Looks great . I hope I can get one of the first ones :)

Which brand of RaceWire do you use?
@mavericm45 жыл бұрын
they should put 20x20 mount holes in the top plate so you could mount 20x20 fc and vtx to top plate then you could run lower standoffs and have extra camera angle with no interference.with your stack that has 30x30 esc on the bottom and the 20x20 stuff mounted to top plate.
@mavericm45 жыл бұрын
I also think the added benefit of this is there is any sort of resonance going on since the mass/size is much smaller of the top plate the gyro noise profile would be much higher in frequency and much better dealt with in filters for betaflight or etc

Tempting, but after tacoing a few lightweight top plates on builds I've set up that way, it's not quite as tempting as just running a TPU adapter plate, or just running 30x30 electronics... but I'm odd in that I like running FC/VTX combo units.

Hey bud how did you fasten the vtx to the top plate? Double sided tape?
@heartofamericafpv55845 жыл бұрын
yes sir! I actually just bought another roll a couple weeks ago. Here is a link: amzn.to/38ksLzP I tried some different foam tape because it was lighter but it wasn't worth it. Didn't hold up.

What is the weight of your build without battery?
@heartofamericafpv55845 жыл бұрын
Around 270g. I could definitely cut some weight but it handles so goo!

Does the frame only take nano cameras?
@tehllama425 жыл бұрын
Micro cameras fit - hard to argue with running Predators. On a budget, the new Razer are pretty baller.

No more protons?
@heartofamericafpv55845 жыл бұрын
I have cc’d a couple to get rid of yet but I moved my whole fleet over to this. The proton and FlightClub are awesome but this thing is on another planet.

Weight delta and the sunk press nuts seem baller - I'm partial to the True Hybrid geometry, and I'm a sucker for MayDay canopy designs, so if you like those two things (more than the improved maintainability of these), then party on the ProtonR/NeutronR train. I've found that packing blue tack in there works fine for my level of hackery. I do wonder if Mike is going to make a beefy 4mm carbon wiggle plate variant of the Proton/Neutron - everything else about those is so good.
