The Best Ration in the World! French Armed Forces Ration (RCIR) 🇫🇷

Hi everyone. Today we are going to be looking at the French Armed Forces "Individual Reheatable Combat Ration" or "Ration de Combat Individuelle Rechauffable" (RCIR) in the original French translation. The French are famous for their food and this is no different. Known around the world as one of the best military rations available. In this video I will show you what you get for your money and hopefully you will understand why it is so sort after.

This is an excellent ration and I’ve used it outdoors on camping and hiking trips. The only negative is the cardboard box perishes quickly if wet.

Agreed! I think of all the rations I’ve tried, this is still my favourite. You can’t beat the variety or quality of the items. All the best 😊👍🏼

As a lot of French people of my age, I made my tour of duty. One day I decided to finish the biscuits I had (we called them pain de guerre, war bread, hard as a brick 😂) no issue tasted the same and biscuits were 22 years old 🤣

The French Army is seriously mechanised so they don’t have a huge emphasis on marching (unlike the British). As a result weight is not an issue. The RCIR is the shape it is for easy stacking including in vehicles. The French also have an arctic ration which is all dehydrated.

That salmon wouldn't be for me, but that is a nice fresh one. I've never had that spicy soup, I bet that is good. It looks likes look they changed a lot of their packaging too, thanks for showing 🤛

@@GreeklishOutdoors totally agree, the French bring gourmet to the battlefield with every ration they make. All of their stuff is very impressive. I have only tried a handful of their rations but do have 2 RCIR in storage right now to get to. Unfortunately, they are both the same menu, but different years.
