My fiance of nearly 2 years dumped me by txt on Monday. I just replied "ok i understand, im grateful for the times we've had together and will hold them special in my heart" i wanted to be the bigger person. Its not only the pain of the breakup, its that he done it by txt, which made me and the relationship feel like a whole lie and pretence. Yes he was an avoidance dismissive. So he obviously couldn't handle the emotions of telling me to my face. Complete coward 😔

@a.d.b535 yes stupid me. He sent an apologetic loving txt. We spoke for 2 hrs on the phone. I agreed to meet him at his place. I knew something wasn't right when I turned up. He was distant. I woke up in the morning and had a cup of tea and a cigarette but felt faint. I knocked over my cup of tea. He was really mad. Called me reckless. Told me to take my possessions out of his house. He was more concerned about the stain than if I was ok or had burnt myself. He went in another room and I walked out in tears. Very very traumatic. And feeling like a idiot for falling for his apology. And going to his. Feeling used as well 😌

@@beaker7353 So painful. When my ex and I were together, there were some times when he would get angry and unreasonable about ridiculous things. He wanted to immediately leave a restaurant at the end of a meal because he had food stuck between his teeth, and got up and left while I was finishing my drink. Because I didn't get up right there and then, said I wasn't supporting my Man, he got all bent out of shape and we parted for days. Wrecked a fine evening for something stupid. Your ex sounds like he's on the fence and felt safe about a nice convo from a distance and in the moment felt safe enough to agree to a visit, but on reflection, triggered his fears so when you arrived, you felt the tension in the air. Maybe your ex felt he'd been tricked into seeing you when his feelings of discomfort were bubbling up. The spilling of the tea simply became the catalyst excuse to put his foot down and say no to the relationship. Like a nervous cat who suddenly hears a loud noise and runs. His mind full of fear all he could think about was escaping with no mental room to attend to you. Panic in the moment. Maybe, like my ex, he has a hard time feeling other people's pain. So step away and let him have space. Maybe he'll process the episode. But consider if you want this level of unpredictability to control your life and your moods. Loving an avoidant is exactly like a physical addiction. This is one of the most common sense videos I’ve found on this topic. I became emotionally vulnerable after she told me she was falling for me… then not long after , she told me she didn’t feel a spark and wasn’t attracted to me for being bald. Yet strung me along with sweet texts giving me hope. It felt like the long goodbye. Then finally, dumped via text. Mean. Cruel. I see this as a gift now.

So I was broken up over text too and I did end up responding to his break up text. I told my ex how I didn’t agree with the break up but either way I wished him the best with his life and hoped he found the peace he was searching for. And I immediately went into no contact. Before I got that dreaded break up text, I did get a strong gut feeling that the break up was coming and I did notice subtle signs that he was changing on me. For example, he would always send me a good morning beautiful text and suddenly he stopped doing that. Also, I would be cute with him and send him those cute kissy face emojis and he wouldn’t respond to that. So, one day I just confronted him and asked him what was going on and that’s when he sent me the break up text. Part of me, strongly thinks that if I hadn’t confronted my ex about his changed behavior he would’ve definitely ghosted me.

Let's cut the bullshit. Breaking up via text is cowardice and abusive and has nothing to do with anxious attachment. A secure person will call the other one out on it, explain that breaking up via text is not up to their standard of how they want to be treated and say goodbye. If someone doesn't have basic respect to break up and discuss things in person, they don't deserve to be in my life.

Now after that he has messaged me daily which I respectfully respond but keep it short and is stalking my Instagram because I am mature and if someone wants to leave I will hold the door open. I received a text from a guy that I was dating -saying sorry and he even mentioned reasons why he is not proceeding further with me. He also said he is gonna block me as he doesn’t want to have this kind of conversations after his text. I got upset and tried to reach him out in another platform. I asked him to have a call for 5 mins to discuss this and then he didn’t respond but blocked me there. Then I got more upset and found him on another platform and this time I sent him a text a little harsh that I would have appreciated if he had called me and discussed with him etc. but after that day I realized that I did wrong by trying to reach out to him. His text was kind and in a decent way but responded him with an upset mind. This led to a guilty state in my mind. How to deal with such guilty of reaching out to him and sending harsh things to him though my intention was not that?
