Love the family aspect of this company. Walked in and it was the most gracious experience I have had from any watch store. Highly recommend, I didn’t buy anything but they happily just conversed on watches. No pressure like other stores.

Man consignment is the biggest game in town for grey market dealers. They get the watches for free, use them to hype their business, then if they are able to sell it the owner has to pay them 😂 while assuming all the risk.
@floridaboybrandon9549 ай бұрын
The grey market dealer has to have it authenticated, sometimes serviced , polished , waterproofed . Then they also have to give a 1-2 year company warranty . So if something goes wrong in 1-2 years and it needs an $600-1,600 service they might end up being in the negative. When you’re talking about a $150-500,000 watch it might be a $7,500-30,000 issue and then they’re really f****ed . Please don’t be so naive

For the people with deep pockets it’s worth it. They don’t have the time, but I couldn’t agree more with you, unless you’re actually insuring your pieces and put that cost into it.

Yup it’s legendary. They’ll never admin it though. They’ll say “It’s a way for the customer to maximise profits” meanwhile think LOL

Great video this week. It's funny how different customers are, one guy wants you to overpay at $11k today and will "make it up to you", another on the phone is very reasonable and willing to consign and price to sell fast. It is fun watching the customer interactions and how they vary. Happy holidays to all at Wolvyn!!

yeah, "invest" "keeps up with inflation" bro the market is dead, and all the pieces are down, quit telling lies about a 3-8 percent return
@calebnavarrro9 ай бұрын
Never insinuated that, I mentioned it only works with certain brands and models, I infact always say that it is not an investment, most people nowadays think that watches are a day trade or something! And yes watches are down compared to the peak of the market, that is a small picture way to look at it, because those prices were not sustainable for forever, but infact if you compare prices from before covid, to now most popular models are inline with what I mentioned about gaining 3-8% per year and that’s historically what’s been the case for decades!

@@calebnavarrroCaleb, come on, man. QUOTE: “if you have extra cash, and you would like to put it in something else as opposed to just sitting in your bank account losing its value? What’s very beneficial with watches is that you can actually invest in something that can keep the value, and potentially actually gain about 3-8%, depending on which watch I end up getting, per year. And so it actually keeps up with inflation, typically. For that to work, you kind of have to invest in certain pieces.”

Watches are still technically up actually. Look at graphs over the past 3-20 years . That’s like saying BTC IS DOWN , YES IT REACHED $65K at the Peak just like watch market . But it’s still at $35K when BTC WAS $10 each 6+ years ago .
@danielojeda39269 ай бұрын
@@calebnavarrro While there might be some truth to your point, I agree that unless you clarify it for the customer as you did in your comment, it might seem like a dubious sales tactic. Unless you're purchasing a Rolex at retail (which isn't the case here as you're a grey market dealer), the likelihood of it becoming an investment piece is small. Using the term investment piece can be misleading, so it's better to avoid it. The same catch phrases were being used when watches were at their peak and look at them now.
@calebnavarrro9 ай бұрын
Most of what I mentioned in the comment was also said in the video, I never once say that watches are an investment however, my main point in my comment, is also clarified in the video, that it depends on the brand and model for that statement of a select number of brands and or models that follow that percentage gain each year, that’s a historical fact, so I use the word invest regarding that very thing, still never actually saying that any watches are an investment, my intention is to inform not to mislead! All of these things are explained in real time meant to leave clients with informed decisions to make!

I was very happy with the deal. They always say to buy the dealer - Wolvyn is the real deal! Thank you and Happy Holidays!
@syz39819 ай бұрын
you didn't have to insinuate anything! you fully said clear as day "if you have money laying around losing money in the bank you can invest in a watch, that will potentially/typically keep its value, keep up with inflation, grow at a certain rate per year" Even if u mentioned that its only "certain" watches The second someone says this can potentially return X and is better than keeping in the bank etc. people instantly forget about hearing anything else. It's like the fine print on an advertisement people hear/see what they want to hear/see that will justify a purchase and you have a lot of influence in that. I already said I like you guys and this doesn't seem like common practice(I hope?) but just own up to it maybe?

If you notice in the video I prefaced this by saying the chronograph is very useful in the right environment, but let’s be honest your average consumer is not going to use this function, unless they use it to have the center stop seconds hand match the actual seconds hand, so they can see a measurement of seconds more clearly!

@calebnavarrro actually as someone who deals in day in and out with clients I can assure you they most certainly do . They may not use the tachymeter to help track speed of time , but as for the time keeping that's an entire separate utility that is as popular as its ever been in recent memory. But hey who am I , I'm just a watch dealer of 25 years
