Hi, just wondering, is there an extra thic layer of clear lacquer applied to maintain enough depth when sanding, or are there just more "thinner" layers of clear? Your work is making something that "can't be seen", adding to the perfection. Paint is probably the most difficult and labour intense work to finish perfectly. A lot of respect for what you do!

It’ll be interesting to see how RR do electric. Like you say, they’re not interested in the fastest or the lightest, they’re interested building the best car. Best riding, smoothest. Whilst it’s here I love the current range of RR and the V12 engines. I’ve spent many an hour on the configurator building the most graceful of specs. I can imagine the customisation options are insane.

You know, after watching the EQS. Yeah, it would be interesting to see how RR (Or Bentley for that matter) goes about electrification, because their would be a lot of engineering effort in a ICE car that is suddenly redundant in a BEV. We will have to see what happens.

Personally I would have bought a Ghost several times already, if ... it would be a little bit smaller, shorter (4.90-max 5.0m), narrower (1.85-max1.95m). Why, because I would like to use the car for long journeys on B roads/ rt départementales, crossing historic villages and cities (Italy, Spain, France), using public parkings. The size of a BMW 5series may-be. RR opulence and style of the interior would just be ideal. After the Black Badge versions it is the first time that I would appreciate the dynamics of a Ghost. I am used to Italian Supercars but in today's world of traffic and chicanes, the speed limitations, a.s.o. a RR attracts me more and more, if not... (see above)

That’s going to be a gargantuan task! Generating it, transporting it, and pressurizing it into to a pressure vessel requires more energy than it saves not to mention its energy density when used in a cell is 1/3rd that of fossil fuels or 1/6 that of fossil fuels if combusted. Not to mention that H2 high pressure vessels are highly explosive if breached. Liquefying it into a cryogenic state to be held in an onboard dewar requires even more generating energy and dewars have their own quirks and limitations. It’s all a nice idea but not even remotely practical. My hope is that solid state batteries, once charging algorithms are fully learned and developed, solve some of the problems that LiIons leave behind. At least at the moment, things look relatively promising for solid states from a KVAh density, safety of transport, speed of charging, and charging cycles standpoint.

I don't get the widespread enthusiasm for RR's new design language. In my eyes while the previous generation Phantom, Drophead, Ghost and Wraith were an exercise in restraint and powerful communication with the minimal amount of lines (the presence of these cars on the road...), the new Phantom, Cullinan and now the new Ghost - are simply horrendous. Overstyled, chaotic, busy. Just a design mess. They all look like Mansory conversions right from the factory - is this the feedback and clientele they have been listening to over the years?

If the definition of "post-opulent" is expansive enough to include self-closing doors and a suspension system that uses cameras linked to GPS to smooth out the ride (and did I spot electric curtains in the rear?), then I’m puzzled as to what that term really means. I actually don't think the current gasoline powered Rolls will keep value at all. Yes it will be a bit more collectable but the point of the Rolls Royce is to give you a ride that is like you are on the cloud, isolated and serene. When Rolls becomes EVs, it would be even quieter with less vibration; and more flexibility of what kind of extravagant convenience/luxury feature it can have. And about the AP, I think this watch in particular is a very special, expensive and specific version of the royal oak, it's not your everyday steel case blue dial. I bet he was 100% aware of the watch he was getting, and the history and functions of it. On the other hand, a 5711 may be a very purist and special watch, highly desireable by watch collectors and specialists.
