The BEST RV Boondocking / FREE Camping Spot in the USA 🇺🇸 by Grand Teton National Park

⭐️ About this Episode:
Is this the BEST Boondocking Spot in the entire USA 🇺🇸? When we think of Free Camping ⛺️ locations this one near the Grand Teton National Park can’t be beat in Our Opinion! Mainly because of the views of the Grand Tetons & Snake River valley! While we do think this is the #1 spot to Boondock, it’s NOT PERFECT! The access up to it is rough and a one lane road for RVs! So if you have a “TOAD” I would detach it and send up your spouse to make sure no one is coming down as your going up! Just take it slow and easy going up and coming down! Our 36’ Class A did fine other than a bump we hit opened our frig and cabinets spilling things on the floor!
Also depending on when you go it could be very crowded! People are constantly coming and going and getting a PRIME location view of the mountains is really a luck of the draw! The camping limit is 5 days due to high traffic but we would suggest to get there during the mid week to increase the probability of getting a great spot! But every site has a Mountain View, some might just be looking over other RVers to see it. And if your looking for privacy then this is not it! However if your looking to meet some amazing people and embrace the RV community then you’ll LOVE all the new faces you’ll meet there! We met some great new friends here and lots of other RV families for our kids to play with! BUT as you know from the video that Grady was attacked by a neighbors dog, so just be careful at any camping spot where people have dogs. Our situation could have been way worse but thankfully it wasn’t!

Our 4 kids have fond memories of our vacations out west with tents, minivans, and side road meals. They got to see many National Parks including Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Grand Canyon! We're very fortunate to have been able to travel when they were young like you are with your beautiful family!

TY for being so understanding about the dog. Running children are often a trigger for dogs. Glad he's OK. Tip for the mice. I live in an old farm house, the ones the electrocute them are by far the best. Just put a dab of peanut butter for bait inside. It's a very quick death and all you have to do is open the lid and toss the mouse, shut the lid and turn it back on. Bait usually doesn't get touched they are zapped before they get to it.

@@LoftisPartyofSix Not sure why local stores only seem to carry death traps and glue traps? Why kill them? They are just trying to enjoy/live life like you are. Get some of the small plastic live traps off of Amazon. They work really well and once you catch them, you can take them down the road and turn them loose. Your karma and soul will thank you for it. Great job on the teaching moment; everyone needs to learn how to approach dogs and understand they can be very protective.

You are definitely in Wyoming. I grew up and lived in WY until I was nearly 40. You get used to the wind to a degree but once away from it for several years, you notice it more when you go back. WY is always my home, though. My roots run very deep. I was raised on a ranch. It was the best upbringing I could have ever dreamed of.

There is a great boondocking place near Red Feather Lakes Colorado. drive to Red Feather Lakes Village, then go past the store and Hardware store, about 5 or 6 miles, road turns from pavement to gravel. few miles later you are in national forest with spots all over for camping. We found it by accident last Sept. 30 2018. when the camp ground we had plan on staying was full. Had to find a place for the night. It was the best spot we have ever been. No one around, other than a few cars that went by. It was just majestic. Thanks for sharing your adventures. I have 5 more years before my youngest daughter graduates high school. Then it will be month long trips. Can't stay away too long from my Grandchildren.

Now my husband has a hard time getting rid of ANYTHING so I get rid of it FOR him!!!! LOL Hoping Grady is healing quickly and I sure hope the dog's owners didn't punish their dog in any way. He was probably frightened and was protecting his humans. The mouse trap without the poison is always best to use even if you don't have kids or a pet. FYI Hydrogen Proxide on the dog bite is better then alcohol, it doesn't sting when applied on the bite. Heals faster too, if he runs a fever go to doctor asap. But remember to keep clean. HOPE this helps. Love you guys!

I agree. Hydrogen peroxide, let it dry, then apply a thin layer of Neosporin (triple antibiotic) Keep that wound clean.

I just spent 5 days at Shadow Mountain. Rough road. Not recommended for large RVs but all the comments said it had the most amazing views of the Grand Teton so I took a risk and drove up the mountain on my 22’ rv. It was an unobstructed/amazing view! How do you get to upload your vids? I’m struggling with the connection and the weboost has been of no help. Thank you!

Fill the tank 2/3 with water and drive around the sloshing may loosen things up. We just use regular household toilet paper in our tank and a lot of water and never had a clogging problem. A shop vacuum also works great for unclogging plumbing.

Get your self some baby magnet for the doors for when your moving. They will keep your doors closed and when done moving just use the magnet clip to unlock it and flip the switch to keep them unlocked. There a life saver. For the fridge use a small hook on the wall and a small bungie ball that will slip in between both top and bottom slot and hold them close.

Ok why it is important to have good boots, I shoot archery outdoors 3 times a week and it involves a lot of hiking up and down hills. I use to wear tennis shoes until i got bone spurs and I slipped a lot and one day I came very close when I slipped and having a quiver full of arrows they almost went in my back i said enough i went and got some Keen boots and bone spurs went away and no more slipping and now I keep three pairs of Keens around and I like Keen because I need a wide boot and Keen works.

I hope the dog is up to date on his rabies shots. Also...if you put peanut butter, cheese or whatever out on a trap you will be inviting the mice to seek out the food. The best thing I have ever used was invented by a truck driver and after my camper has sit for a year I can say the stuff works!! It's on Amazon and it's called, Rodent Repellent by Fresh Cab. I bought 4 scented pouches then I purchased a bottle of the active ingredient in the pouches which is Balsam Fir oil and I drop some of that oil on the pouches to keep the pouches working. Happy trails and safe travels.

I got these to keep the critters out of my RV put them in the sun and at night under my truck and RV when a critter comes around light comes on and scars then away also if you have chipmunks around if you leave the hood open they don't like it because its not dark and cozy I learn that near Bridgeport CA this guy told me because they chewed his wires his last trip. Oh Ajax powder works around tires and things they can climb up. 4-Pack 8 LED Solar Lights Outdoor, Super Bright Motion Sensor Lights Wide Angle Wireless Waterproof Security Lights for Wall, Driveway, Patio, Yard, Garden
