Speaking of dry camping, some of the best dry camping we've ever done was at #Merus Adventure Park overlooking #PaloDuroCanyon. We've always heard that Palo Duro was the Grand Canyon of Texas, and now thanks to Merus Adventure Park there are 5,500 acres of trails to explore!
There is a lot going on in this episode! As Trish said, "The train went off the tracks in Oklahoma City.” We ended up feeling under the weather while in Oklahoma City, so although we spent over a week there, we don't have much video footage to show for it. Sorry, OKC! Then the fuel leak on the Bird got worse, so we decided to head home to regroup. Candidly, we need a good regroup every 60 to 90 days.

Just had my mind blown. We are watching this episode and the scene from the Big Texan camera plays. I'm the guy wearing the Summer to remember shirt. We are excited about E3 Campgrounds at Merus. West Texas still has some great Dark Skies; evenings with simple binoculars can be unforgettable. As you design campgrounds, please think of preserving what little Dark Skies we have left. Downlights, red lights, and such will go a long way to keeping people safe and the night sky's beauty.

David, those are some great tips. We will be working with E3 to design the camp grounds and we will be on a 3 year development cycle. We plan on 3 full hookup locations in the park and there will definitely be some very special spots.

Just my two cents regarding Charlie and the leash. This is the perfect place to show Charlie you trust him, its wide open no people or traffic. Just go for an informal walk, start on leash, then heel him and take it off then resume walking. He will run, but only a little while, when he sees you aren't going to freak out and you trust him he'll hover and stay close. He's a smart dog, the one thing you could do is train him to heel with a dog whistle,... yes that's a real thing. Like I said he's very smart and easy to train, when he's going in a direction you don't want him to go blow the whistle, then call him back with a small treat that he can see. He will associate the whistle with physical praise and a treat. One more thing, he's genetically hardwired to have a job and to contribute to the pack by doing a job, get him a small harness type pack, so he can carry water and a few snacks, he will love it. You can still carry his leash in case its needed. Call Cesar the dog whisperer he'll show you how to train him.

We love Palo Duro Canyon, even back to backpacking and tent camping days. It's nice to see the "other" perspective (from the edge instead of on the floor of the Canyon.) I always said that Our sons had two baptisms - one at Church and one in the Frio River. (christening by water and the Holy Spirit instead of dirt!! Ha, ha. Have y'all been to Caprock Canyon? Last time we were there, it had been flooding and we arrived shortly after the rain stopped. There were millions of flowers blooming - incredible!

So I was at anchor down RV Resort in Tennessee when my brother told me about your Channel. This was mid November. It did not Escape me on one of your episodes that what you had planned to stay there once but they were all booked up. I highly recommend the place in the warmer seasons yes, it's quite nice . I have binge watched every episode since then. I now find myself depressed having to wait a week every time I want to see a new one. You guys are doing a fantastic job and you have a great family. By the way Trish has a fantastic voice for narrating specific Clips like the Arlington Cemetery episode. Second only to Morgan Freeman. I can imagine the fun you're having driving those Bluebird buses I drove them for many years in the Air Force. I'm planning to buy a fifth wheel short toy hauler this year if things go according to plan. If not I have a short travel trailer I plan on using more this year as well. We will be in Camp Verde RV Resort Arizona in mid February and I am curious is there a way to purchase any of your gear locally or does it all have to be ordered?

Fuel leaks are not fun... no breakdown is. I had an auto detailer teach me a trick for washing vehicles (including RVs). Use two 5 gallon buckets. One with water and one with soap and water. When you scrub the coach down, use the water bucked to rinse the brush before putting it back into the soap and water bucket. When the water-only bucket gets dirty, rinse it out and put fresh water in it. Your soap will go further and you won't be spreading the dirty soap water all over your rig.

You might have had Covid . The symptoms of Omicron are often just like a mild cold and scratchy throat and cough. It is extremely contagious and you can spread it before you have symptoms . Over New Years, my grandson tested positive , the 3 and 4 days later 4 other family members had it . It was mild , they all had their vaccines and booster. I enjoyed your video very much .

Same here. It spread like wildfire. And we live in Oklahoma City. In the past week we have posted record numbers every single day for positive test results. It’s awful. Glad your alls was mild. I have it right now and I’m hopefully getting over the fever.

I was thinking the same thing. We both had "colds" a couple of weeks ago. I'd had both shots and the booster, wore masks everywhere but still caught it somehow. Mine was just the sniffles and some coughing and sneezing, no fever. I would never have known it was Covid, but I happened to have a home test here and decided to take it prove to my friends that I only had a cold. I was so surprised when it came out positive.

I have been on this property several times in the past before it became Merus Adventure Park when I worked for the county Sheriff's Office. The Armstrong County portion of the Palo Duro Canyon is spectacular. The Fields' have a gem in compared to flat land plains of the Texas Panhandle. We look forward to development of campground so close to our home, and cant wait to bring our camper over. I was telling my wife about Aoudad Sheep.
