One day I was at Neiman Marcus and and the sales associate showed me Vanilla Barka and omgeeee!! The most amazing vanilla!! The price really kept from buying it. I worried it would not project bc it is an oil and to pay that much I want you to really smell me before you see me! Do you think it projects? And where do you place it for it to be the most effective? Thank you!

Oils/attars tend to have softer projection due to the absence of alcohol but I find the sillage is larger and the scent stays in the air sometimes for hours even after you’ve left, for a bigger scent cloud with attars, dab behind both ears, on the clavicle, between your chest, inner arm above elbows and the middle of your back. You need to practice and try different combinations to find your sweet spot.

It doesn’t have crazy projection but like the person before me commented, it does leave a gorgeous Sillage and the longevity is out of this world! I usually apply mine to my wrists and dab both sides of my neck. Literally lasts like 12 hours especially when you layer a perfume on top!

There are tons of dupes online, but if you want to come in a store and actually smell before buying (which I highly suggest doing rather than blind buying a dupe online) I’d say try Explorer by Mont Blanc. I usually can find it at Macy’s. Should be somewhere around $100

I’ve been trying to a find a video that gives tips for beginners instead of actual layering combos because not everyone will have the same perfume collection, but they can find similar enough notes let’s say. Or something that’s not as specific as using the recommended perfumes. If you’re up for making a video like that, it would be awesome! I literally haven’t found one yet. And thank you so much for your response! I’m going to start playing with mine and see if I come across some stuff on the subject. I’m intrigued. ☺️💕
