Nappa's 1st passive (the soil here looks perfect for planting saibaman) basically just makes it so if you kill a civilian or finish off a player it gives more energy

Nappas 1st passive is easily his best skill, if not the best skill to upgrade period for this raider

I don’t recommend upgrading any active skills (except for scouter since it also gets a range boost) because it only cuts off 1-2 SECONDS AT LEVEL 20! From the cooldown time and in my opinion that isn’t worth it (yes don’t upgrade powerball even if you think it’s good)

Power ball is another noob trap like spopovichs upgrade. Only shaves off literally 2 seconds at max. Instead invest in power of super elite, since that lowers the CD even more when you do damage as vegeta

All of it seems inconsequential. the character by design has too much raw power. Raider gameplay is focused on rushing through your low levels to reach power spikes. This character is unique in that the 1st stage doesn't matter at all- you run around, possibly swap to another saibaman, and suicide bomb them to get an INSTANT, free down on 1 survivor and IMMEDIATELY powerspike into your level 2. If you die, you STILL powerspike into Nappa. It goes against the gameplay purpose set so far for raiders having weak early games so they don't oppress survivors from the start. Then you go to Nappa and same problem. You are given a unique opportunity that other raiders don't have to avoid losing the match and be rewarded with a power spike even on death. Not being able to summon saibamen as Nappa if you died is not a big deal. If you watch how people play, they hardly bother planting them or sending them out to scout enemies anyway. Similar to Vegeta, losing Nappa as a summon isn't the end of the world. Your SOLE MISSION is to rush early stages and push the powerball cooldown as fast as possible to get ape. And ape is so broken gameplay wise that it oppresses the entire map by default and is unrealistic to fight against even with the whole team powered up. Any skill upgrades they could've given the character would be too significant and make playing against it unfun at ALL stages of the match. As a response, the upgrades are negligible. Are the saiyans an interesting and iconic raider? Absolutely. Are they healthy for the game? No. Most ways other raiders are punished for bad play are ignored until you get to Vegeta's stage. The punishments they do receive aren't a big deal. Hunting civilians isn't even as big a deal for them as every other raider unless you are using them as a crutch for bad or unfortunate play. And Ape is a win condition, which it really shouldn't be. And everyone's gonna REALLY feel it when the nerfs come out and absolutely neuter this character. Wouldn't be surprised if the nerfs make it so almost no one plays them anymore. One thing I can promise is one of the 1st nerfs is powerball's cooldown is going to be increased. (Opinion: Ape is an ABILITY that is currently being used as a stage 4 for the character and it shouldn't be. It should be used as a *potential* turn mechanic. It should be strong, but not nearly as oppressive and damning as it is now. It should be either a flex or a losing Vegeta's LAST CHANCE to turn a match, but several survivors should be able to reasonably fight against it. Maybe with a slight disadvantage. Vegeta and his tail should have 2 separate healthbars: Vegeta's remains the same and the tail's is smaller. A survivor transformed or normal having Yajurobe's sword should be TERRIFYING to ape Vegeta, killing the tail in 2 or 3 hits. Limit sword spawns to 1 or 2 per match. And if ape is nerfed and made more easy to fight as a team, I would be fine if cutting off the tail DIDN'T kill Vegeta; just turns him back to normal and his health bar retains all damage from before and after transforming. Of course, if you make ape Vegeta's "normal" healthbar hit 0 before the tail, he dies for real. Make the ape something survivors can fight against, and you might be able to lower powerball's cooldown as ape no longer guarantees victory. But whatever. I hope they try to fix the character and not just dumpster them for the health of the game.) Sorry for the ranting, but after covering these "upgrades", it really just highlights how they were really walking a tightrope when designing the character.

Damn man, YOU WENT IN! lol i agree with a lot of what your saying here. The only point disagree a good bit is the nerfing of the power ball's cooldown. Personally, I don't encounter too many Great Apes, and even when playing as Vegeta myself I literally have to play around the cooldown and throw part of the match with the attention to deal as much damage as I can to lower the cooldown. Also, I personally don't think its impossible to win against the great ape but its a huge uphill battle for sure. Appreciate your response man!

My thinking was that either the Saiyans are too new and ape might not be as bad as I think it is, so the community doesn't quite know how to handle ape yet or it IS just too powerful. The lazy way to "fix" it would be to increase powerball's cooldown to lower the odds of ape deciding the match instead of rebalancing it. We'll just have to see how things turn out. Glad my ranting made some kind of sense or gave someone an idea!
