Gem bag too. Herb sack is number 1 IMO. It makes me thousands of GP per task on average as on better monsters I uses to drop anyrhing harralander or lower in value. Those add up quickly. Prior to gem a bag, though, a chisel can be useful to cut bolt tips on some monsters. Saves bank time or dropping multiple sapphires and emeralds which can net decent profits.

I started 6 years ago, and saw someone with the slayer cape and thought it was the coolest most badass cape I'd seen at that point and still is to this day and I had the goal of getting it since then. Now I'm 97 slayer, 96 spread on melee stats 101Ranged (16m exp) and 75 magic. 70 prayer. 1640 total level. I'm still trying slowly but surely 2 tasks per day as a busy guy with a family but I'm getting there. Maybe at the end of this year I'll have 99. So far I've earned enough from slayer to get 99 crafting for a nice bank teleport, I've got decent gear (bloodmoon/fang for melee) and venator bow+blessed hide for ranged which I'll sell back when I retire from slayer Update: I hooked in hard to grind out slayer as much as I could since this post and now I'm finally 99!!!

Sure 99 slayer has taken longer for me than some people have taken to max a UIM, but I've chipped away with 1 task per day sometimes a couple tasks per week if I've been busy with the family and work and over years it's built up. If I get it by the end of the year I'll be happy, but if it's early into next year I won't be surprised

I would recommend the bonecrusher / bonecrusher necklace as a must have. It's incredibly useful as preserving prayer potions in the catacombs. I often have gone through entire tasks not sipping a single dose. Absolute huge upgrade for slayer

My favorite slayer tip is to spend some time on construction and get your house close to maxed if you can. I didn't do this until pretty late in the slayer grind and I wish I had sooner. It makes transportation to/from tasks and banking so much easier. Plus you can save some cash on pots/food by using your rejuvenation pool when you bank. It's a big quality of life upgrade during the slayer grind. RSN: No Biscotti

I would say maxing your house is probably the best mid-game upgrade, world 330 is cool but it's always laggy and at peak times it's almost impossible to even get on, I didn't grind construction till I was almost max combat and seriously regret it lol

Mahogany Homes makes it a lot more affordable if you don’t hate that particular gameplay loop. Definitely do it with Lunar spell book for the NPC contact, using tele tabs is super worth it for “back to back” house assignments. At least, once you have the plank sack, you can sometimes do 2-3 tasks without having to leave the area (especially in Falador).

@@heek40 time. W330 means you need to teleport to port sarim. Enter someone else's home, find the things you want/portal you need to return. Plus usually world hop in between. Having it yourself means you can teleport right in, you know the layout. Plus if you get construction cloak you get a direct free tele too for a single bag space. Doesn't seem much but it could save you 30 seconds to a minute per trip. Calculate how many trips you will do to just say get 99 slayer to recharge prayer and stats. Let's say 1000 tasks and recharges as an arbitrary number. 1000minutes is 17 or so hours. Im pretty sure it will be more than 1000 uses too. As I've had plenty of tasks I restock prior to completing it. And I'm not even remotely close to 99 slayer (in the 70s) and already done about 100 tasks IIRC so probably atleast 15 times more experience needed to 99 for me. Also the time savings greatly benefit gold per hour aswell. Now can also add to it for other needs and uses such as quests, gear grinds, other skills, pet farms etc. Basically it's a gold and time sink that will repay both if you play long enough.

4:05 - a little correction: the cannon in Jormungand's prison is banned only in the Basilisk Knights, but IT IS ALLOWED on the Dagannoths area. Since they don't attack with ranged, it is better than the lighthouse to cannon.

A slayer tip I discovered by accident is finding the plug-in for cannons. It helps with getting double hits on cannons, and you can even highlight the monsters in range. They highlight green if they get hit twice and red if they only get hit once, and a separate highlight for when they’re out of range. Suqahs are kinda nice with a cannon tbh. Personally I extended them, with bone crusher necklace, lb, sgs you can camp out there pretty long with piety + protect magic and even when you need to heal, it's super close to lunar tele

For bursting, the AOE attack from the Dinh’s Bulwark is a great way to gather up monsters. With a light bearer, I feel like I’m never really waiting for the special attack charge. Going for boss variants is a great way to get XP. 95-99 was nearly entirely hydra but it felt like it went quickly. RSN - Phrendly

@koaz osrs just a tip for the bracelets, specifically the slaughter for boss kc… you can swap to the slaughter right before the slayer exp drop and get better dps the whole kill with gloves of respective combat style you are attacking with. Similar to what I’d assume you are doing with the bone crusher necklace at hydra. Even though you didn’t use it in the hydra clip I’d assume that’s why you have it to get passive prayer points from the bones right?

My #1 tip for slayer is the same as my #1 tip for runescape in general If your not having fun take a break and come back to it later. Do some skilling, do a quest or achievements if you dont have the capes, heck go outside and touch some grass, or talk to those people you live with otherwise known as your family for a bit. Thats cuz youre a noob still. When you realize all the extra slayer xp youll get from using the bracelets and the minimal dps difference wearing barrows gloves(or any kind of gloves), you realize how useful slaughters are. And its not a couple, on a 200 monster task you get on average 50 more. When fighting bosses you dont even have to wear the bracelet the whole time, you can equip it right before the boss dies. Youll figure it out eventually when you get into the sweaty part of slayer, (pet hunting, imbued heart grind, combat achivements, etc).

As a main, I used most of my xp lamps early game on slayer. So far xp lamps from quests, diaries and varrock museum gave me almost 60 slayer and I’ve only done around 20 tasks.

I'm on the side that hates slayer, doing tasks I hate, being assigned them so many times too, then groaning as the level takes ages. Then I learned I wasn't using my block list at all and after spending about half a day, I broke my streak and went up to 100 Tureal boosting, it was a very fun process and got two levels in the meantime. If you wanna do slayer efficiently, the cosmetic change is one of the last things you'd want to get. Ofc you're free to do whatever you want, I think the slayer helm looks sick as it is anyways. A couple of things I disagreed with/want to add something: 1. I firmly disagree about training slayer on low levels for efficiency. It is much better to train combats on good methods like crabs or NMZ until you have at least level 70 melees+cannon+ice burst before starting slayer. This is more efficient than doing bad tasks on low combats for bad points and xp. If you enjoy slayer and want to start it ASAP then go for it, but if you want efficiency then train combats first. It isn't xp waste to train combat without slayer, you will save time in the long run unless you train combats to 90s or something 2. Cannon should always be used by mains. If you can't affors cannonballs then make money until you can. Irons shouldn't use cannon 3. You should always wear either expeditious bracelet or bracelets of slaughter. The goal of efficient slayer training is to spend as much time as possible doing good tasks and as little time as possible doing tasks that aren't good. If the task you're on is good, you want it to last as long as possible and bring slaughter; if it isn't good but not bad enough to warrant skipping then you want it to end ASAP and use expeditious. 4. Regarding boss slaying, they should be treated as more of a tool for PVMers to get slayer helm boost on their boss kills rather than a tool for slayer trainers to get more xp.

RSN: TwitchLyfe. My Slayer Tip is yes, it is good to train combat and there are faster methods outside of slayer, but try to double dip xp where you can do slayer while working the combat path too. Slayer will teach you more about the game and can learn the combat better styles for PVM along the way.
