Loved the association between a loo and available WiFi. Long gone are the days when people would go in with a copy of the Sun to relax as they did their business. It’s much harder to use the mobile if you run out of toilet paper, but you can still catch up on the world.

Excellent video's, thanks. I have a MK2 Berlingo car with a basic homemade conversion. I've just ordered the collapsible loo as space is limited. I have been using a small bucket with wood pellets and biodegradable bags, which works fine but uses up space under the bed. Hoping to revisit Skye and the Highlands when times are better. Did look at one of these but got a 2018 Ford Transit custom Devon Firefly hightop automatic swb with 14k on it for 38k, like the full hight toilet privacy door, and easy access to the loo as 2 single beds. And it's still the length of an estate car.

Yes very good, interesting. I was worried about the toilet but to be honest I just had the thought when we go out for the day we never worry you always find somewhere, and The pop up toilet I think thats fine for emergencies! Lovely to hear an honest review. Too many folks after investing so much have to almost convince themselves that everything is perfect and as we know everything is a compromise. For some its build quality, others size, or a plethora of other things but rarely do you hear about them. So highly appreciated. I have a Nissan car and it has been amazing its definitely not perfect. The NV200 definitly is a great little camper!

Nice video. We have the bivvy loo for emergencies. I have a folding military style steel spade, small and can be used on virtually any surface. I also have the same Blue Tooth speaker and a smaller, Sony version, but in the winter we tend to watch a tv once it is dark. I feel a bit guilty now as we use campsites. My wife likes the luxury of hot showers and toilets etc. We also use all electrical items while plugged in. Bu I do fancy doing more wild camping as it is free.

Some things are surprising. No door on the glove box? Such narrow side door map pockets? Just a tiny bit more width would be useful. No mirror? Teeny, tiny reverse camera? We are always off grid. We don’t use campsites. That panel does a good job of charging the battery on sunny days. The alternator does the rest. We have a lithium battery which makes a big difference.

Which model nv200 have you got? As Nisan don’t make them for the UK now, I’ve had problem getting info on 2nd hand models. What would you recommend?

Nissan Techna diesel. Diesels are best as they have van engines which are more robust so should last much longer. There are only 2 trims, the Techna has aircon which is really worth having for dealing with condensation in winter. It has cruise control and speed limiter as well. These vans will become sort after because as you said they are only making electric now.

I enjoy your vid very much. May I ask what was your average daily driving distance? Are the front seats comfortable for long distant driving?

The driving distances vary according to the trip. We prefer not to drive more than two hours in one stretch but coming back from Spain we drove more than 300 miles in one day. For the Ireland trip we did about 2,400 miles in five weeks.

The front seats started to get a bit uncomfortable on the long drive days so we used some seat pads for extra comfort, otherwise they are fine.

We are lucky to have the diesel as the mpg is fantastic. Its quite easy to achieve as well if you drive carefully. It makes an NV200 cheap to run 👍

I like your camper van It does remind me of a Coka a Cola bottle, with the stripe. haha They don't have to many camper vans like this in USA and new ones are quite expensive.. I called Nissan and asked about a rear seat and they wanted $6,000. + for new seat only. So I was able to find a New York city used Taxi that has windows and a rear seat.

This was in the USA. The USA Nissan website does not indicated adjustable steering wheel is available, even as an option.

susan & charlie ours is the Pioneer Avic Z720 DAB. I wish we had got one that had a knob for volume rather than tiny little buttons. DAB reception is pretty rubbish but Car play, the bit we actually wanted works fine.

Hi there - like the video - very informative. We used to have a fair number of garages in South London that sold LPG but in recent years apart from one they have all removed their LPG pumps - how have you found gas supplies so far?

LPG pumps are disappearing without a doubt but they will be around for quite some time yet. I use an app to find them and in this van you don’t need them often. In France and Spain there were plenty. I have three near me so we are lucky. A diesel heater is the other option but would probably be too hot for an NV200.

Another option is the Wallas XC Duo combined hob & heater which is what I’ve got in my van. It uses diesel from the van’s fuel tank.

That unit was a Pioneer Z720DAB. I can’t recommend it really as the navigation and Apple carplay is not reliable. If you want a better reversing camera don’t use the existing camera as the view is not that helpful. We paid for it to be fitted.

Still got the same one. Not sure its really worth swapping it as we tend to do most navigation on our phones and I have become far more proficient at reversing the van with the mirrors, not that you would know it when I got stuck in that cemetery. As I make films we don’t tend to listen to music as that causes copyright issues when editing. Main reason we got it was for the reversing camera but it really needs a better camera mounted near the roof looking down. Pioneer is not the best so maybe a Panasonic or something would be better.

Forgot to say. The guy who fitted ours seemed to have trouble tapping into the rear camera. I think he spliced into the video feed. Other people who fitted their own said they just plugged and played 🤷‍♂️

Did Sussex Campervans fit the head unit or did you go elsewhere Ken ?

51tazzman it was fitted through Sussex Campervans but they sub contract the work. I got them to do it mainly because in the past I didn’t do that with a tow car once and things didn’t go well and the garage and fitter blamed each other for a fault. In the NV200 group I belong to on facebook there are people who have done it themselves and said it was easy but when the fitter did mine it took quite some time. If you want to do it to improve the reversing camera I would recommend not using the built in camera. In my opinion it does not give enough view of what is behind you and looks down too soon.

Thanks for the low down on the Nissan sadly looking at the ground clearance I would not recommend going down anything more than the gravel track you showed with the utilities mounted where they are, I have been looking around for something just for myself I have seen on KZbin a few companies in Korea that have been converting the Ssangyong Musso double cab pickup truck into a campervan they get the long wheelbase chassis and cab without loadbed remove rear cab bulkhead and build a camper with full of grid facilities on it sadly I cannot find anyone outside Korea who sell it (not even Ssangyong) Based on a proper 4x4 it would be a great wild camping vehicle, sadly the Nissan is a bit small for my requirements I am over six foot tall plus I have two pet's who sadly require. I have driven the predecessor to the NV200 for work and found it to be lacking even though I have owned Nissans for over thirty years this was a disappointment.

Beach Kimba we have a portable rechargeable shower but have only used it for hair washing so far. No bath onboard so we heat up some water in a saucepan and have an all over flannel wash. It is surprisingly refreshing 😊
